Hi, there. First and foremost, I would like to address the accusation that we are puppy mill with "something to hide" being that we "hide under various names to confuse people." We are, and always will be TeaCups, Puppies & Boutique. This is our DBA. It's our registered trademark (which is public record on sunbiz.org), and it is the only name we go by when it comes to puppies. Back in 2007, we merged with local grooming salon, Pets Are People Too. Today, this grooming salon is still located within our boutique. On our previous website, you may have seen the title "TeaCups, Puppies & Boutique together with Pets Are People Too," and it means just that: TeaCups Puppies merged with Pets Are People Too grooming salon. There are no other names that we use in the public eye to "confuse" people. This is all public knowledge, as the information can be found in the "About Us" section of our website, as well as various local news articles that were written about us and released back in 2007 when the two companies merged.

With that being said, I would like to point out that our puppy boutique (not mill) is open to the public 7 days a week. At any point in time, visitors may frequent our shop to see for themselve what type of care our puppies are receiving. A puppy mill raises its puppies in inhumane conditions. I guarantee that you will not find that here. Here are a few differences:

1) Our puppies sleep in clean condos on soft beds with warm heating pads and cozy blankets. Puppy mill puppies typically sleep in cold wire cages with no beds, no blankets, no heating pads, and often times... next to their own feces.

2) Our puppies have ample space to play and move around inside of their condos. They also come out for play time several times per day. Puppy mill puppies live in closed quarters with barely any space to move around. They've probably never seen a toy in their lives.

3) Our puppies are constantly being snuggled and played with. Puppy mill puppies experience limited human interaction.

We refute this accusation in every way, shape, or form. We are NOTHING like a puppy mill. We do not support puppy mills. And none of our breeders treat their dogs in this manner.

As far as the health of your puppy is concerned, these are very serious issues... all of which are covered under your puppy guarantee. However, this does not sound like us. We employee a full time staff consisting of:

1) A vet technician whose sole purpose is to ensure that our puppies are healthy. They observe the puppies' behavior, keeping an eye out for lethargy, diarrhea, itching/scratching, poor appetite, etc. They perform weekly fecal exams to test for parasites like the one you've mentioned, coccidia. Coccidia are tiny protozoans that live in the intestinal tract of dogs and cats but do not normally cause disease unless the dog's immune system is compromised (like a puppy's). They are incredibly common in puppies, so we are constantly keeping a watchful eye. Although, if you purchased your puppy from us, you would have learned during puppy orientation that parasites shed in cycles, which means that just because we don't see them under a microscope or the test results come back negative, doesn't mean that they aren't there. We inform all our customers that its virulence is influenced by stressors. So when the puppy stresses (ie. first bath, vaccines, going home to a new environment, being handled too much, travel, etc.), these opportunistic protozoans can take over and cause diarrhea and illness. This is why it is so important for the customer not to skip the complementary (yet mandatory) vet visit within 2 days of bringing them home... because included in this complementary vet visit is another fecal exam performed by a licensed veterinarian, and this is the perfect time to test! Your puppy has just experienced a major change in environment. Your family is excited and handling their new puppy a great deal. THIS is when symptoms will show and test results will be most accurate. Coccidia is treatable with a simple oral medication administered at home. If you purchased your puppy here, then you signed to this during puppy orientation. We teach our clients everything there is to know. 

2) A kennel staff whose purpose is to keep our puppies clean and fed at all times. No puppy shall sleep next to its own feces. You will never find that here in our boutique. If a kennel tech notices that a puppy is not eating or has diarrhea, they immediately inform our vet tech who then works with the veterinarian to determine the cause and treatment plan.

3) A bather whose purpose is to keep our puppies clean and observe any abnormalities of the skin, ears, and eyes - including ear mites. Ear mites are very easily treatable with drops that we keep on hand, and it's very difficult for this to go undiagnosed as the puppy would be shaking their heads and constantly scratching. 

We keep a very organized system here, so these issues would have to have been overlooked by several departments and a licensed veterinarian (who would never risk their license to illegally and fraudulently lie on medical records as you've insinuated). Our records indicate that no client in 2015 attempted to contact us to redeem a health guarantee on a puppy with such serious ailments. All of these health issues would have been covered under our puppy guarantee. Furthermore, I don't have a full name to look up in our system, but Rip Off Report indicates that your last name is Ramirez and that this complaint was filed in the state of Arizona. No customer with the last name of Ramirez has purchased a puppy from us between the years 2013 and 2017, and none of our puppies have been delivered to Arizona in 2015. Maybe the puppy was purchased under an alternate name or this complaint was filed long after purchase? I don't have much information to go by, but I would love to assist you.
