I did pick up 3 of my dogs. One Chinese Crested male that surprisingly was in pretty good shape, only had worms. My two Shih Tzus did not come out so good. Both had worms (hook, round and tape) and were thin, both have
scarring on the eyes. One might become blind in a few years. We are treating both dogs eyes. One dog had such bad teeth that he could not eat hard food. He was
swallowing his food whole. He is on the way to recovery now. I do not know what food Dawn was using but obviously it was not high in nutritional value. Both
dogs were suffering from malnutrition. These dogs were in excellent health when Dawn received them last spring. One was in full show coat and the other was in a puppy cut as he had finished his championship.

The dogs were kept outside in a shed type of affair. There were ramps that looked like an old slide up to dog doors. This is where the mommas with puppies were housed along with the other dogs. I think all ran together. I really don't know how she could tell which dog sired which litter. The yard was fenced with makeshift wire, etc., old tin cans and discarded cat litter pails were
in this yard along with months of dog poop. There was no evidence of food or water. The dogs might have had water from a puddle on the ground. The place was horrible.

Dawn had a dog door that led to her bedroom where she had some of the dogs locked in along with a pot bellied pig. She also had a Boxer puppy that the ears had been cropped and then not cared for. The puppy had a lot of scarring at the base of each ear. Her house was also very dirty.

I am not suing Dawn because I did get my dogs back. I have reported her to the Missouri Department of Health, Child and Family Services of MO, and The American Kennel Club. Plus I have put this on every list that I can
think of and asked for the information to be cross posted.

I am leaving for Florida in the morning. We are showing at the Ukanuba Invitational Dog Show on Saturday. We are staying in Florida for 2 weeks then on to Louisiana to show. I won't be home until the first week in February.

I do hope you can get some satisfaction from the courts. I personally would like to see Dawn Sanford out of the dog world. If you want to talk more on this, my daughter, Kathy, was with me and can talk to you. Her e-mail is (to reply to this report, please post a rebuttal or contact the EDitor)
