I had purchased a trial of Dazzle Smile teeth whitener for the shipping and handling fee of $1.95. I wasn not told that the item had to be shipped back to them within 14 days or I would be charged $87.62..Well, on November 3, 2009, a charge came to our debit card for the amount of $87.62. I called the company and was told to mail the trial unit back to them at the Iowa address they provided to me with the cancellation number on it. I did so immediately. I waited 5 days and called them. I was told that they received the product and that the refund was issued and would be put back onto the debit card provided when the original transaction went through within 5-10 business days. I waited until the 11th business day to call and check on why or where our refund was. I was told that the refund was "refused" by our bank..??? So I called the bank and was told that noone has tried to refund to the account. So I called the whitener company, yet again, to be disconnected.
I called again. I was finally connected to a supervisor. I was told that it was a problem on their end as to why I didn't get the refund and that all's I had to do was call my bank and tell them to give me a "charge back"..Whatever one of those is. So once again, I call my bank and get the same thing that a charge back could not be issued because the whitener company never tried to issue a refund at all. I called the whitener company back, again, super aggitated now, asked for a supervisor-again..He told me that I had to call my bank back again. I said that that isn't going to work. I told the man that I wanted a refund that I am entitled to. Not only did the man get hasty with me, but told me that there was nothing more he could do!! I wound up getting so upset, I hung up the phone. I have no idea, now, how to get the money back. It's almost a hundred bucks I am out of and have 3 kids to raise. This is not fair. Oh, and one more thing, the bank told me that there is nothing they can do unless they refused the payment, like the whitening place says they did. The bank is saying that I got ripped off. That is what I must believe at this point. I would like to hear from others if this has happened to them with this company: Dazzle Smile or Improvehealth as it says on the bank statement.
