Complaint Review: DC Discount Movers - Daniel Sacks
DC Discount Movers - Daniel Sacks Ruined Furniture Internet
I would also advise people not to deal with Daniel Sacks. I needed help moving a sofa 2.5 miles and found him on Craigslist. We agreed to a price of $100 for the job, and he arranged for his "partner" to pick it up.
The men who showed up were nice enough, but they exercised little caution and destroyed the sofa. When they were through with the move, the sofa had numerous tears, scrapes, and other blemishes. I showed pictures of it to friends, and they agreed that it was ruined. I also sent the pictures to Daniel and his partner, but they did not respond.
There's no excuse for this. You don't treat furniture like that, especially when someone is paying $100 for an hour's worth of work (which was in line with other estimates for the job). Plus, I gave Daniel a detailed description of the sofa and the stair/elevator situation over the phone, so they should have been properly prepared.
