I am writing to you about a bad experience I had with a company that advertises on the internet through places such as wholesalecentral.com and ships through UPS. My experience with this firm has been very, very bad.

The merchandise they sent was not what I ordered, not only once but 3 times.

I returned an order during the early part of 2006 that I had paid for by money order through UPS, and advised them to send me a check by return mail. Weeks went by and I did not hear from them. I called several times and they said I would have to talk to the owner and they would have him call me back. He never bothered to call me back. In fact I had to keep calling the company because the refund check never came and no one called me about it.

Finally I got in touch with a woman named Carmen. This was weeks after the return. Maybe 6-8 weeks. She told me that the company had paid the money into a credit card account they found listed on my record. It was from an order I placed with them 2 years ago.

I asked why they did that since I had paid with money order and they had not been instructed to refund my money that way. In fact the cc account had been closed for two years. What's worse it was with Bank One who was taken over by Chase Bank.

Carmen told me that this was my problem. She said that they had paid the money into that bank account so it was up to me to go find it. I explained that it was their problem because they had not refunded my money. However, she stubbornly insisted that it was my problem since they had credited my credit card (which was actually a bank card).

I was outraged with Dealer Leather. But I called the bank and they said I would have to come in person before they could give me any information. So I took a day and drove back to the city I had moved from 2 years earlier in an attempt to find the missing money. The bank had been taken over by Chase Bank and they could not find the credit (check) card number that the leather supplier said they paid the money into.

98888They said I would have to call their main offices and gave me a toll free number to call the next day because they were closed at that time. The following day I called the number and got the same information. They assured me that if there had been a credit paid into my closed account (which they were accessing from my social security number) it would have been returned.

I called back and spoke to Carmen who couldn't seem to understand that I was the customer, due a refund, and had never gotten it. To her way of thinking they had paid the money the way they wanted to pay it despite my wishes and it was completely my problem. No customer service skills at all. It is very obvious that this company does not care about their customers.

Carmen faxed me a verification of the deposit they had made into this closed account advising me to go back to the bank and find the money. I went back to the bank with the verification and got the same response. They couldn't find any information about a debit card on my closed account and there was no deposit showing up that had been made into that account. I called Carmen, and she said she would call the bank.

She called me back and repeated what the bank had already told me and again informed me that she had been very nice to have helped me as much as she had. They had paid the money into my bank and it was my problem. This woman was not understanding me or my issue. She was completely closed brained to the entire scenario. Nothing I could say to her made her feel that their firm was at fault.

I asked to speak to her manager and she said she was the manager. I asked to speak to the owner and she said she had already spoken to the owner and he said he had paid me and that was that.

So here I am with $227.00 missing. I will obviously never see that money. I trusted this company to fill my order and appreciate my business. They are goof ups.

Since Carmen faxed me a statement saying they deposited the money into this closed account, and the bank says they would have rejected the deposit had it arrived, then I have to assume that Dealer Leather got the money back and are refusing to pay me. Whether they got it back to not they steal owe me money and they have every intention of stealing that money from me. If they deposited it into an account, they did it of their own accord. They were not instructed too. Therefore, they might as well have given the money to a stranger. I have not received a refund. And they can't seem to understand why I'm not happy about it. Frankly they just don't care.

My first order (in 2004) was for 3, 3X full leather coats. 1 of the coats although marked a 3 x fit my grand daughter who is a petite size 4.

This recent order was for all 3 x assorted leather items. All the items were small or medium. When I called to complain I was told to return the merchandise. They said they would ship another order right out. However, I had to pay for the second order before I had been refunded on the first. The second order was also wrong sizes. Too small.

I called and told them I just wanted a refund. They said I could ship it back. I did. Weeks went by with no communications, no refund check.

And then they deposited the money into an old cc number they found in my file from 2004, into a bank account that had been closed out and forgotten. What's worse, the bank had been taken over by another bank and apparently some of the old records were lost.

Now the money is missing. I have never received a refund. I am confused as to how a firm with such bad practices could operate in the USA.

The company needs to be closed down immediately. There is definitely something wrong with their business practices. And they shouldn't be allowed to keep taking advantage of people.

The company is:: Dealer Leather, 1000 Main Avenue, Suite 2F, Clifton, NJ 07011, Telephone 973-773-5000, Fax 973-773-0005
