I signed up for dealer match service in December 2013 based on promises and information given by the sales rep. They basically made it out to be a site where I could buy cars direct without having to go to the auction and pay buyer fees. They claimed that I could save thousands of dollars.

This information came from the sales rep, and not from the department that actually works with you once you sign up. The people that worked with me once I signed up were telling me a whole different story and said that they can't believe that the sales team made these promises.

I used the program for approximately 7 business days or less and it turned out to be a flop. I didn't purchase a single car and was turned down by every selling dealer. The selling dealers were trying to make a profit on selling cars directly to another dealer as a wholesale deal. It is not a wholesale site as it was made out to be. I was lead on to believe that it was a wholesale site for dealers to wholesale cars once they were on their lot for 120+ days.

When I made wholesale offers I was either declined or counter offered at a retail price. When I asked to cancel they stated that they wanted me to try it out for another couple of weeks since I had paid for a full month in advance. I declined this offer and asked that it be cancelled immediately and a refund be processed due to the product being deceitfully represented to me. This was on 12/17/2013 that the program was cancelled. I waited a few weeks and waited through the holidays for a response or a refund and it never came.

Today I contacted DealerMatch and spoke with Rob Collini regarding the cancellation and refund and he told me that it was not his department and told me to email customer service. I told him that since I was already speaking with an employee with DealerMatch that he could simply process the refund or submit the request to the right department. He declined to do so and called my lot yelling at me saying that I was personally attacking him. I wasn't attacking anyone, I'm just a guy that got swindled out of $350 and wanted my money back. He refused to notify anyone with the company and refused to help me at all. I wonder if DealerMatch is aware of this guys behavoir?? Probably not so I decided to notify Ripoff Report to get my story to the right person and possibly get my refund processed.

That's the best you can come up with?

My complaint was not retracted because ripoffreport.com does not remove complaints....they will however allow you to explain your side of the story which you have.....with lies and tall tales about the service. My best advice for any dealer against this company is to buy your cars at the auction unless you normally pay well above MMR for every car you buy. Don't waste your time or money on this garbage. The sad part is all the hoax and hype they will feed you up front in an attempt to get you to sign up. Make them give you 30 free days to try it.....won't happen! The reason it won't happen is because they know you will cancel before 30 days are up because it is a waste of money.

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

This dealer admitted to lying

What a hoax.  In his own "rebuttal" the dealer admits that if he got a refund he would have retracted the report.  He admitted he got the refund and the report stands.  He is a liar.  So why would you want to believe what he has written?

Facts Are Correct!

I did agree to remove my complaint if a refund was issued and after speaking with numerous employees I did receive a refund. In regards to the garbage you just entered regarding my offers that are 23% below MMR......Ha! One your own employees flat out told me that no one uses or cares about MMR anymore. His exact words were "MMR only applies to Honda Accords and Toyota Camrys". I buy cars at auctions every week like clockwork and I know what I pay for them because.....guess what? I bought them! I monitor what I pay for them and my offers on Dealer Match were a spot on what I pay for them at the auction. In regards to me making offers to non-members......I made offers to dealers that placed their cars on Dealer Match therefore they are obviously associated with Dealer Match......as to what a member and non-member is I do not know and do not care when I am looking at cars listed on Dealer Match. I made a large number of offers with multiple franchise dealers, the prices they listed were at or near retail. They were using Dealer Match to get their inventory on another website for retail purposes and although this is not my problem you made it my problem by posting that rebuttal with canned lies about coaching that was refused. I refused nothing and even spoke with an employee about why all of my wholesale offers were being turned down, his response was that most selling dealers on Dealer Match do not actually sell ANYTHING at wholesale prices and that it was not an exact fit for what I needed. What he did not do is offer a refund or tell me that I should cancel.......I had to point that out on my own! I came.......I tried.......It didn't work......and I asked for a refund. Had you offered it right up front, we wouldn't be having this conversation on this website. Thank you.

#1 UPDATE Employee ..inside information

Facts are incorrect

AUTHOR: Manager, Dealermatch - ()

This customer used the site.  He made wholesale offers that were 23% below MMR(Manheim Market Report) wholesale values.  He made offers to non members and made low offers.  Much like the Auction, the low offers were not accepted.  He refused coaching or offer assistance.  He had a long "chat" with an employee an which he refused to comply with terms and conditions agreed upon for cancellation.  He even got a full refund and still wrote a scathing inaccurate note to this site.

We cannot please everyone, we strive for perfection and when we see complaints like this we just have to acknowledge that some customers have unreasonable expectations.  I have repeatedly reached out to this dealer and have been unable to resolve his frustration.  A dialogue is needed to solve these types of issues, not just making demands that are contrary to the terms agreed upon when we started our business relationship. Dan
