I responded to this company's (In my opinion a rip-off organization) "Final Notice"/"Employee Pricing Plus 0% Financing" Offer for a "bumper to bumper, platinum coverage" extended warranty contract - I did so after the 72 hour deadline for doing so which didn't cause the salesman to hesitate in the least to immediately begin attempting to close the sale and have me pay the down payment on VISA and commit to a purchase of almost $3,000.00 "warranty extension service contract."

When I received the contract and enclosed therewith materials I took about an hour of my time to sit and carefully read and consider the contract and its potential value. I found the exclusions to be unconscionable and the overall value specious at best and worthless at worst.

I then wrote a letter of cancellation, sent by certified mail, return receipt requested, mail to Dealer Services in which I canceled the contract and demanded a refund of the down payment. Additionally, I sent a copy of the letter to the finance company, Mepco, and to the warranty underwriter/administrator, Warrantech Automotive, Inc. For added protection I also advised the issuing bank of my VISA card of my intent to cancel and dispute the charge if Dealer Services attempted to delay or deny the refund.

I have posted this as a caveat to others who may be pressured into purchasing one of Dealer Services contracts. And I believe that any ethical attorney who would read the contract's provisions, conditions, and exclusions would likely agree with me in cautioning the public to avoid purchasing an "extended warranty" contract with this company and/or any of its affiliates.
