Advanced Technical Support "Technical Support" corporation you are told to contact when Microsoft informs you that drivers in your computers needs to be replaced. The "technician" who answers the phone replaces the drivers and informs you that the computer has many problems and would I like them to run a diagnosis., after which they offer to tune up it up, plus install support software, etc. You end up with a major bill, but it is supposed to cover two year service. The hell begins then. Could be anywhere in the USA Internet
I was having problems with my printer, and I contracted Staples to come to my home and work on my printer and tune-up my computer. This was done in three hours, and the printer works well since. However, the mess on my computer continues ever since. Soon after I got a message from Microsoft that I needed to replace six drivers, and was given a technician's Phone number to install the drivers. I called the technician and he proceeded to install the drivers.
When he finished installing the drivers, he asked,"did you notice that you computer is very slow"? "Not only is it slow" I responded. "I constantly get pot ups that interrupt my work and I get so frustrated and give up and do something else because nobody can work with constant interruptions." He asked if he could run a diagnosis of the computer, and I agreed that it would be a good idea. After an hour or so, He showed me on the screen a copy of the screen, showing pages of error after error, page after page. I was more than flaggergasted, because this computer is fairly new. He asked if I would like his company to repair everything that was wrong with the computer, and install "Panda", which according to him was one of the best security systems, told me that he had gotten approval from his Manager to sell Panda to me for a reduced price of $195, a product that sells for $400, and charge for the Panda, labor, installing a software to speed the computer, the whole package for around $400. I told him I would have to think about it.
We talked the next morning and I gave him the go ahead. It took him six hours to do the work. When he was done, Panda had not been installed, and there were other problems, the pop ups continued to pot up. I called him the next morning. He apologized, and he promised that all the work would be completed that day. Another at least four hours wasted when I could not do anything.
For a while, the computer ran OK, but the computer became sluggish again, and though I could use the software that I had used in the past, somehow the tools for each of the different software were not working as efficiently or were not working at all. I had to call Advanced Technical Support on two or three occasions, and they were never able to solve the problems, or either provide proper information so that I could help them enter remotely into my computer. If my migraines stopped ten years ago, they were slowly but surely coming back.
Then, Chris, one of the Technicians at Advanced Technicians begin to call out of the blue and tell me that he needed to access my computer because he had been monitoring it and he could see that there were all kinds of problems. I already suffered from Identity Theft at the tune of $32,576 in 2011, and this individual informs that that he is monitoring my computer? Isn't that illegal? At first, I allowed him to enter my computer remotely, knowing that he worked for Advanced Technical Support. However, his calls have become more frequent to the point that he appears to be a stalker. As I see it, a client calls the corporation when and if he needs help. I do need help because my computer is in much of a need of help as when I first contacted this corporation. However, I am know becoming afraid of this man. I would have tried to report this to their company directly, but I don't have their address.
To top it all, when I entered into a contract with them, it was supposed to be an annual contract. The ammount I paid was supposed to cover for annual tune up and repair and any services required during the year were included in the one time payment. However, I have noticed that they are charging me every month for the worthless services forced on me. How do I stop them from harassing me on the phone, continuing to charge for services included in the one time annual price, which should be refunded to me because the computer was never fixed and will burn up because it is running too hot?
Thank you for listening. I must admit that I have had to take the phone of the hook to avoid this the technician Chris. The thought of talking to him makes make my skin crawl. I was stalked when I was fifteen years old. Just by talking to him on the phone gives me the same sensation of fear and discomfort.
