one dell inspiron computer was purchased by me directly from dell computer company in may of 2005. this computer had minimum run time on it when it first developed problems in the fall of 2007. i first took it to the geek squad guys where they charged me $200.00 to clear the frozen screen which only stayed operational for a few weeks.

upon returning to them i was informed that i needed a new "mother board" as they called it which would cost me about $7oo.oo which is what i paid for the computer.i then tried the dell "help line" which cost me another fifty dollars and spent a couple of hours on the phone with a supposed technician who seemed to be reading off of some kind of prepared script that was supposed to cure any common problems i may be having with my computer.

after a long and frustrating phone ordeal the "technician" informed me that i probably needed a hard drive. after buying and installing the harddrive i recalled the dell helpline only to find that without the system administrator password i would not be able to proceed with the rest of my help line session. frys electronics told me that the necessary password was in the original harddrive and with that being froze up i could not access it.

i am into this computer for alm ost a thousand dollars and got barely two and a half years use out of it and that is not everyday use.if it costs me over $300.00 a year for a dell laptop and it still does not work then i will be buying another brand of computer for the rest of my life and will be sure to tell all who are thinking of buying dell of the poor performance and follow up care that dell had available to me.i also have trouble with my dell inspiron 1520 that my office got me for my office. it needed to be cleared by a $75.00 an hour tech for the same freeze up problem.
