False Info given by the Dell Financial Rep

AUTHOR: Amanda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 06, 2006

I am writing quickly to say that the individual that stated they were from Dell Financial gave incorrect info and I wanted to clarify it.....

When a computer is ordered there is NEVER a rebate form with it....you need to either call customer service or go online and download one....(a very quick process usually).... Then you send that form and the packing slip in.... It would be to the best interest of the consumer to send it in by a traceable method.... ie: UPS, DHL, or FedEx.... this way there is a way for Dell to trace it.... you would be surprised at how many calls are recieved and all it was was a lost rebate form....

I know it sounds disheartning but I am a Customer Service Rep and I deal with this everyday.... EVERYDAY.... that is why i tell all of the customers that call in not to send it by USPS because Dell has no way to trace that accurately..

Again I know the process seems daunting but really it is easy.... just a form and a slip and you are done.... but be aware it takes up to 10 weeks to get the refund.... 6 just to get you in the system... recently Dell went with a new rebate center and I will tell you I have never seen a more efficient company....

So take heart and know that it does not have to be a hard process it just is when information is not given, or given wrong.....Thank you

Rebate FAQs

AUTHOR: Tess - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 21, 2006

Marilyn,

I hope you and your family are doing better after the hurricane.

As an employee of Dell Financial, a different company, I think I can shed a little light on the rebate situation for you.

When you purchased you systen in 2003, you should have been sent a rebate form. On that form would have been instructions on how to redeem. Rebate forms are sent in right after purchase and you do not have to wait until you have paid it off with the credit card company.

If you never received or lost/ misplaced your forms, you will want to call Dell Customer Service at 800-624-9897 at your earliest opportunity. The offer might have already expired, but they should be able to tell you either way.

Good luck!
T@DFS
