I opened up my account with Dell in January 2004 which was to begin a very long and tedious nightmare. This is a case of "Buyer Beware". I made my first payment within days of receiving my bill. After roughly 3 weeks, I started getting multiple phone calls from Dell saying that my payment was late. I explained to them that I had mailed it in the envelope they provided, gave them the date and check number as well. This has happened 3 months in a row. 2 out of the 3 payments they recieved but claimed it was late and then charged me $29.95 late charge.

To curb this on going problem, I set up with my bank account to pay this bill every month on a certain date. Using Billpay with my bank, I figured how could I ever be late? I kept getting harrassing phone calls daily by Dell, sometimes several times a day stating that I was late. I couldn't understand what what going on. So I called my bank and my banker informed me that Dell had refused payments 2 times. I spent 2 days and I don't know how many hours dealing with their call center in India. What a nightmare.... 8 months later and my bill not anywhere looking less than what I started with, I am unresolved.

The funny thing is here, is the same situation is happening to my father. He would send a payment and they would hold it, charge him $29.95 late fee. I now have a letter from my bank as proof that they denied two payments. I am going to see what the Attorney Generals office will say about this issue. I have decided that Dell is a big SCAM and RIPOFF and moves their call centers to India so they can rip those people off because they are too cheap to pay American Workers... why should they pay American workers when they can get $3.00 or less an hour over there??? I am very sad they are abusing the East Indian people... Globalization?

What a joke! If anyone else has had this issue, please respond. Perhaps we should get an investigation started. Now I have proof... I am sure the Attorney Generals Office will find that interesting. Two accounts, same household. They are taking advantage of my 79 year old father... will it ever end? My father sent in a payment of $500 because he is wanting to get rid of this situation with Dell by paying off the account. They are to date, still holding the check so they can continue to collect interest. When my father called, they said that it was in the contract that they could hold a check that was $500 or over. My father looked over the contract as did I.. I don't see a clause with this statement. I want to pay off my account and never deal with Dell again...
