BEFORE YOU BUY ANY DELL PRODUCT, CHECK OUT THE CONSUMER FORUM ON THEIR WEBSITE! You will find that Dell printers only work right with Dell printers. Dell printers can only use Dell printer cartridges and they are not available except by mail order from Dell. The cartridges are more expensive than others and you have to pay shipping and handling. Such a rip-off! People writing into the Dell forum are stating that their printers are not printing and are giving incorrect error messages. If your printer is out of warranty, forget getting any response at all. You are on your own! You cannot even get into an online chat with tech support at all. I will never, ever purchase another Dell product! I strongly suggest that others take the same position!

Dell printer cartridges

Own a Dell printer which I was assured by a Dell rep was the same as a Lexmark 6100 series and Lexmark cartridges would work in the Dell printer. WRONG!
I was given incorrect information by the Dell rep. I purchased the correct Lexmark cartridges and, lo and behold, they do NOT work in the Dell printer. I was told by another Dell rep that ONLY Dell cartridges would work.

I have a Dell printer, shipping is never charged and the ink is really unexpensive (20 for black ink-inkjet). I think you got it wrong, check the website...or consumer reports the printers have been rated the best in the market as of now..better than HP.
