I wish I would have read the postings on this site first. It seems I am just beginning my long road with Dell after reading other postings. In June 2005 I ordered a Inspiron 600m laptop. Paid cash for it - about $1,200.00. It took two weeks to get it. Within 10 days of briefly using it, it CRASHED. Keep in mind this is a new computer - still less than one month old.

Just as others have posted here I have spent several hours (probably 5 hours and I would say 20 calls) on the phone with Dell - or should I say attempting to contact Dell. After speaking with "Leon", "Don", "Mark" and "Joydeep" and others, all of whom spoke very poor english, didn't resolve the issues I raised and just lied to me. First they tried saying it was a software issue that I would have to pay for support - then after having me press this botton and hold down that button - ok "now get your screw driver" - I am like WHAT a screw driver? They finally come to the conclusion that it is a bad hard drive. Well guess what - they aren't sending anyone to fix it - they sent me the hard drive and expect me to repair it myself. They also indicated that I did not receive the disks I should have with my system, that is a separate "dispatch" and they would send the disks also.

I received my new replacement hard drive marked "refurbished", but I still did not receive the disks. I contact Dell to inquire why I am receiving a "refurbished" hard drive and they guy tells me some bull story that it is not refurbished that they just have to mark it that way because they have tested it. That is just nonsense! Long story short - last night they try to call me at 9:36 PM. to see if I received my disk. I was already in bed so I missed that call. Oh boy, I could go on and on but you get the gist of it. Yesterday I sent a certified letter to Dell in Round Rock Texas - after reading the postings here I am sure they won't satisfactorily resolve my complaint. So like someone else had done - I will contact the Texas Attorney General and whomever else to make complaints to them about Dell. I too would participate in a class action suit against Dell.
