Delta Airlines They called the police on my wife. Atlanta Georgia

To Start I grew up in the Atlanta area, went to Georgia Tech in the early 80's and was a die hard Delta Airlines Supporter. During the 90's I was a platinum rewards member, now I am a silver medallion. But those days are gone.

On 1/4/09 my wife was flying From Huntsville Alabama to Milan Italy with a connection in Atlanta. The flight was late leaving Huntsville. My wife arrived at the gate in Atlanta for the last call for boarding. Even though she had a confirm seat on the flight the gate agent gave the seats to standby. My wife asked the agent when the next flight would be. The agent ignored my wife questions. My wife got louder in asking her question and the agent walked off. My wife followed and asked again and was told to get away. My wife walked away and asked another male agent. He told my wife he was not going to talk to her so my wife told him "F--K You" and left. (I could see me doing this but my wife is so proper it floored me when she told me)

While standing in the line to the the concourse ticketing counter to find out what was going on with her flight, the male agent came up with a supervisor pointing toward my wife. My wife approached them and told the supervisor that she was the one and what she said. The Agent then told her that "Delta does not want her kind flying with them" and to give her the ticket and that she was going to cancel the ticket ( I did not mention my wife is hispanic and all the delta representative were Afro-Americans plus my wife was dressed down for the long flight. I suspect they thought they were bullying another poor immigrant traveler) It was going to be my wifes problem to make any arrangement for completing her travels Delta was going to leave her stranded.

My wife would not give her the ticket unless she signed something saying she took the ticket, the agent instead called the police. The police forced her to give up the ticket. My wife stepped aside with the policeman and told her the story. His answer to her was "That is why I do not fly Delta".

Go figure. My wife called me intears. We were able to complete the trip with some difficulty.

We are still contimplating a discrimination law suit. Since then I have sent e-mails to Delta with no reply except sorry for you troubles. Since this has occurred I would like any Delta Reps. that may read this I have already spent approximately $6,000 dollars on flights plus another $55,0000 on my AMX card (I canceld my skymiles card). I typically spend $160,000 to $200,000 on my AMX a year and $12,000 on plane flights. But none of this is going to go to Delta and Northwest or any trip that uses Delta or Northwest as a carrier. I hope you promote these agents and supervisors. Finally, I hope you go bankrupt.
