OrthoWhite Deceptive ad offers free sample, charges $78.41. Boulder Colorado

An online ad offers a free sample of Orthowhite tooth whitening gel for $1 shipping and handling. After getting your credit card number, an additional package containing two 3ml syringes, just twice as much as in the free sample, is included in the package without your consent or knowledge.

You are then sent an email advising of the added package. Your credit card is charged $78.41 for the two tiny syringes of hydrogen peroxide gel.

To give you an idea of the value, you can get a good size squeeze bottle of this from your dentist for $15.

I called OrthoWhite to say I was sending the product back unopened. The rude woman told me it was too late. She refused at first to refund the charge, then offered a partial refund.

When told I would have the charge reversed on my credit card , she said go ahead and try, they won't reverse it. We get that all the time. We can prove you agreed to this by not cancelling. I called within three business days.

This is a scam and a ripoff. Steer clear of this company.
