Hi All:
I'm getting calls from the Department of Law & Investigations... It's a little humorous as I have read the entries of others but when you get right down to it, it is an invasion of someone's privacy and not to mention it's just down right aggravating. The person that calls me says he's Officer Smith from the agency listed about and that he is calling to collect a debt from an internet loan that I took out in 2009 or 2010 (he can never tell me which one and I cannot understand him due to his accent being so thick, (Pakistan-accent). Anyway, he proceeded to tell me that I owe 350 to this loan company and if I did not pay up then he was going to file a law suit aganist me and not to add insult to injury that the police were enroute to pick me up. After getting these phone calls and him harrassing my family I'm really fed-up. I have contacted the FBI field unit in my state as well as reported it to the internet crime unit.

This is simply sickening. Why won't these people get a job like everyone else and stop trying to scam people out of thier hard earned money. I do admit that when they initially began calling I got scared but after reading the laws about what bill collectors can and cannot do, I'm more convinced than ever these are SCAMMERS.

So words to the wise- don't fall for these scams. Here are the phone numbers that I have been called from 347-607-3833, 518-721-4196, 908-275-3099.

I too have been their victim

The phone calls to my job started at 11am this morning and have yet to stop. 25 calls in less than 2 hours. Not only did they tell me, but also my co-workers, that I am under federal fraud investigation and the police were on there to pick me up. I supposedly have a $795.00 pay day and if give them my credit card info they will stop the police from coming.

Steve Jones, with a very thick Middle Eastern accent, (gotta love the name) would give me no information. Everytime I asked him a question I could hear him whispering to someone one. Then he would get back on the phone and tell he does not have to answer my questions. Told me he will keep calling until I am either fired or pay the money. I do not even have a payday loan. I called the company they say they represent and they have no information on me or any outstanding loans. All they could do is apologize and transferred me to their fraud department. Lot of good that is going to do. The same man keeps calling over & over but pretending to be a different police officer or FBI agent.

Thankfully I have understanding co-workers who know this is a scam. But it has disrupted not only my day, but the rest of the employees where I work. Not knowing how much information these scam artisits have, since they already have my social security number, I have had to close my bank accounts and cancel all my credit cards. And no matter what I say to them they just keep calling.

I have passed the information over to the local police department, but I dont see that doing any good. These con artists are mostly a half a world away.
