Dept of Law and Investigation (Mike Anderson) SCAM SCAM SCAM! Spartanburg, South Carolina

I received a call today (11/11/10)on my cell phone from this number:  159239588.  No, I didn't leave out any digits either.  I don't answer calls from numbers that I don't know, so I sent the caller to voicemail.  They called back two more times before leaving a message.  A gentleman by the name of Mike Anderson, with a heavy Middle Eastern accent, left a message stating that he had paperwork that someone was suing me.  The only thing that he said was that he was from the Dept of Law and Investigation and that I needed to call him back at 281-763-0495, so that they could clear this legal matter up with me. I have no plans on returning this idiot's phone call, because I have better things to do with my time.  Even though this SCAMMER stated the last 4 of my social, it still didn't get my attention.  I'm a Licensed Private Investigator in SEVERAL states, so I'm well aware of the scams that are out there.  He doesn't realize that he picked the wrong person to try to scam.  Our personal information is not guarded at Fort Knox, unfortunately.  The public needs to do their part and not fall for scams like this.  The first red flag was the fact that someone was suing me out of Texas (I don't live anywhere close to that state), and a guy with a Middle Eastern accent but with an American name was trying to convince me in the message he left me that it was a legal matter.   If anyone is suing you, you will be served papers.  You will NOT receive a phone call.  I have read the posts on here about this scam and all I can say is that you can't go to jail for owing a debt.  You can have a judgment or lien placed against you which is reported on your credit, but you can not be put in jail.  Trust your gut and research stuff so that you don't become a victim.
