Design Savers Plan ripoff absolute scam!! Aurora Colorado

In October of 2006 my husband and I requested rate quotes on insurance and recieved a call from the design savers plan. They described a wonderful, affordable plan for my family and we signed up for coverage.

The problem began in late October when I had to take my daughter to the pediatrician. We are located in West Virginia, and the closest doctor was in Cumberland two hours away. Late in November I found out I was pregnant with my second child and needed yet another doctor. I called the 800 number listed for the company and was referred to the doctor I have been seeing since November for my pregnancy. Now it is April and I am just being informed that my doctor never took the program provided by Design Savers unless it was my primary insurance. In the meantime, my husband has also had some health issues that required medical attention which again was referrenced by Design Savers Plan, this too is now in question.

Now we are looking at several bills for my daughter, husband, and myself currently in my sixth month of pregnancy. Bottom line being, the Design Savers plan does not inform the consumer that they utilize other insurance providers for coverage. You basically gamble every time you use the program. Most physicians only know the network not the Design Savers Plan, this is why you can find a doctor when you need one. However, when you really need the coverage it is not there.

If there is anyone who can help me seek justice in this matter I would greatly appreciate it and recommend to all consumers that you find an insurance program, not a discount savings plan.
