My complaint is against the owner Allison Collins. Owner of diamond dance center, located business in Seven Hills, Ohio.  my daughter has been with diamond dance center for 6 years and on the Competition teams for 4 years.   The relationship amongst the owner and dance instructors was good up until approx 18 months ago when the owner had  multiple personal issues with some of her instructors in which she had let go,  then any of the kids who happen to work well with the previous dance Instructors,we're slowly belittled and bullied by newly hired dance instructors, simply because they desired to leave and pursue other dance opportunities. This type of behavior should not be tolerated however I know it will only continue which is the reason we are removing our child from that environment, and somewhat at a loss for the thousands of dollars a year for fees associated with costumes, instruction, dance competion fees, hotel and travel costs. I would encourage any parents or guardians that have children pursuing dance to steer clear of this business and their poor business etiquette.

LOVE this business!

AUTHOR: DDC Dance Mom - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, July 16, 2014

Yes Dakotat76, it is your right to give your opinion.  I am also a consumer at this establishment and, unlike you, choose to report positives.  I am well aware that any business is not going to please everyone.  If you re-read my report you will find where I said everyone has the right to spend their money at the studio of their choice.  That’s one thing we agree on!

“I DON’T NEED ADVICE ON WRITING A REPORT AND OR A REBUTTAL AS YOU DID WITH YOURS.”

Dakotat76, I did not receive any advice nor discuss my report with anyone.  I accidentally stumbled upon the website, and disagreed with what I read.  I find it amazing what is available on the World Wide Web!  My report is based on MY feelings and my dancers’ experiences, no one else’s.  Also, details and procedures of competing, estimated costume and competition fees, as well as tuition payment rules are the same for all members of the team.  I received the same “rules and regulations” and competition schedule you did at the beginning of the season!  No advice needed here.  Should I post the paperwork?  I have emails that go back years.

Speaking of advice and being way off base, I was wondering if you possibly got a little input writing your response.  I am flattered you followed my style of writing this time by using paragraphs, punctuation and capitalization.  I am most impressed by the lack of run-on sentences!  If I didn’t know any better I would think someone besides Dakotat76 wrote this!  Congratulations on the improved grammar!

“NEEDLESS TO SAY WE HAVE LONG SINCE BE GONE”

Long since been gone Dakotat76?  Was your original posting correct?  Diamond Dance Center just complete its 6th season (with an amazing recital, by the way.)  Your posting date to this site reads 6/8/14.  You stated your “daughter has been with Diamond Dance Center for 6 years and on competition for 4 years.” I’m no math major, but 6 years at a studio that has only been open 6 years…  Long since been gone?  LOL!

This correspondence could have no limits, so I will make one final point (and then I won’t waste any more of my time responding to Dakotat76)…

The original report filed stated “I WOULD ENCOURAGE ANY PARENTS OR GUARDIANS THAT HAVE CHILDREN PURSUING DANCE TO STEER CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS AND THEIR POOR BUSINESS ETIQUETTE.”  Now Dakotat76 writes “IT WOULD BE UP TO ANY CURRENT OR NEW CONSUMERS OF THIS BUSINESS TO VALIDATE THEIR OWN EXPERIENCES WITH THIS STUDIO.”

Steer clear or validate their own experiences?  Hmmm. Contradictory.

God Bless You Dakotat76, and enjoy your new studio!

Business is business.

Based off of my opinion as a consumer you’re stating that this is a fraud report.

Should I remind you that as a business you’re not going to please everyone and should be ready for any and all negativity? Business is Business, but when someone and or a business repeatedly shows a enormous lack of maturity and hires Instructors that conduct themselves in a ill manner,  it is my right to give my opinion of certain things that it should be noted.

Did you read that this is a permanent report on the site when you posted?      (DDC Dance Mom)

Yes I read this otherwise I would have not posted a report.

Should I try to ruin the reputation of you and your “friends” by posting your names in my report?  (DDC Dance Mom)

So now your stating that you know who this is that filed the report. You’re currently way off base.

First of all I have NO instructor Friends and or ever been associated with any close personal relationships with any “Instructor Friends” Nor any dance studios. I don’t need advice on writing a report and or a rebuttal as you did with yours.

Everyone makes mistakes and (unfortunately) occasionally says something they regret.  Lucky for your instructor friends I have a conscience and do not play those nasty games. (DDC Dance Mom)

I don’t have any Instructor Friends, and I also have a conscience.  This is not game. I will however report anything that I believe should be noted about a business and it is my right to do so as a consumer. This is simply my opinion based off of previous experience and exposure with this business.

You have stated that things are going well for you, good on you for reaping the benefits. However in a business those things don’t always go well for everyone. Needless to say we have long since be gone and I would only hope that you would not jump to conclusions about who wrote this report, as simply as I can put it your way off base.

I simply pointed out a few things about this particular dance studio; it would be up to any current and or new consumers of this business to validate their own experiences with this studio, its owner and its instructors.  Your rebuttal only proved to me that there will always be sycophants.

False Claims against Diamond Dance Center! Shame on you Dakotat76!

AUTHOR: DDC Dance Mom - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, July 15, 2014

I was quite sickened when I stumbled upon this review while doing an internet search for the studio website.  I was going to the website to see if photos from dance Nationals were posted, and saw the address “ripoffreport” first.    I am compelled to comment, as the complaint from “Dakotat76” is far from accurate, and I am extremely happy my girls are students at Diamond Dance Center.  I have two daughters that dance and compete.  They just finished their 5th year competing for this studio, and are taking summer classes in preparation for year #6.

Allison is amazing person.  She is talented, caring, hardworking, and one of the most generous people you will ever meet.  Bethany is the most talented teacher my daughters have ever taken classes from.  She has always been extremely patient and kind to my girls.  Their skills have grown by leaps and bounds since learning from her.  Unlike some instructors, she not only tells the girls how to do a move, she SHOWS them.  Hannah has only been with the DDC family for one season, but she is a sweetheart.  She is young, talented, and has fresh ideas.  She just co-choreographed a National winning number with Allison!  These teachers are strict with the dancers in class, but will be your best friend when class is over.  Discipline is NEEDED for competition children.

“LOSS FOR THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS A YEAR…”

No way is that the truth!  The dancer left the studio AFTER competition season ended, and shortly before recital!  Competition costumes were paid for in October, and used throughout the season from Feb. 2014 to Mothers’ Day weekend.

“HOTEL & TRAVEL COSTS…”

Travel expenses are fundamental when you commit to a travel team, no matter what the sport is!  This is no surprise, and is laid out clearly before you commit to this type of team.  I believe our tentative schedule was handed out no later than September – months prior to the 1st competition in February.   Also, after being “on the competition teams for 4 years” you are WELL AWARE of the estimated expenses.  The farthest we “traveled” was to Columbus, a 2 hour drive.  EACH PARENT makes the decision to stay in a hotel or to drive to-and-from the venue the same day.  NO ONE is required to stay in a hotel!  NO LOSS OF HOTEL AND TRAVEL EXPENSES.

 “LOSS FOR INSTRUCTION FEES”

Tuition is paid monthly.  If a dancer leaves before the season ends, the most that would be lost from instruction fees is one month’s tuition.  If you left in May after the last competition weekend of May 10-11th, 2014, the MOST you lost is 2 weeks of class fees.  No dancer was removed from the studio; it was Moms choice to pull her dancer.

“THE RELATIONSHIP AMONGST THE OWNER AND DANCE INSTRUCTORS”

I am not involved, nor do I care to know what happened between these ladies. Ultimately, though, it is the business owner’s responsibility and right to employ instructors she believes to be the best for HER students and HER business.   My children are thriving at Diamond with the current instuctors.

DAKOTAT76 chose to leave as she is friends with the “dance instructors.”  Everyone has the right to spend their money at a studio they think is the best fit for their own child.  I have also changed studios in the past, but I do not ATTACK people.  I chose to change where my children danced for their betterment, and I left on good terms.  You, DAKOTAT76 are trying to damage the reputation of people because you weren’t happy.  You made the choice to leave for whatever reason, so LEAVE and don’t hurt others in the process.

Finally, I don’t believe any of the “instructors that she had let go” who are coincidentally starting their own business would appreciate if I posted THEIR NAMES all over the internet.  For example, the time I walked by the doorway of the room where my daughters’ were taking class.  I heard one instructor say “YOU GUYS SUCK” to the girls in the lyrical class with an average age of 11-12.  You don’t talk to children that way!  I said “excuse me” and got a quick apology.  Do you think the “instructors that she had let go” would like if I posted THEIR NAMES and stated how many times one or the other of my girls (or their classmates) left the studio in tears after being embarrassed by these ladies when they couldn’t do a move?  Is it fair to call a child out in the middle of class and embarrass her by making her perform a move repeatedly while the rest of the class looks on?  After a few attempts at the move and you know the child is trying, do you suppose it would be best for the child to be approached AFTER class, or ask the parent to schedule a private lesson?  I have nothing personal against these instructors and wish them the best on their endeavor.  But… I don’t think they would appreciate if I or any other moms stoop to your level and post THEIR FULL NAMES and studio name and give details of how they “belittle” children and “practice poor etiquette.”

If they are not aware of the untruths you posted, maybe you should ask them if it was a good idea.  This could happen to them too, dakotattletale.  Did you read that this is a permanent report on the site when you posted?  Should I try to ruin the reputation of you and your “friends” by posting your names in my report?  Everyone makes mistakes and (unfortunately) occasionally says something they regret.  Lucky for your instructor friends I have a conscience and do not play those nasty games.  You Dakotat76 are assaulting Allison, Bethany and Hannah and your allegations are not justifiable.    Shame on you!
