First of all, I do appreciate forums like this and the people that post on them, attempting to save others from becoming victims and it helps hold companies accountable for their actions. I understand where the original poster may have searched online and formed some conclusions about Diamond Prize Center but the information in this post is not 100% accurate. Let me clarify.

I work for Diamond Prize Center. It's not cold calling. The entries are selected based on certain criterea from sources like esweeps.com or iwon.com & we then call and confirm the information and set appointments with interested people. The message we put out is similar to "your a finalist if the information we recieved is valid" or "call to claim your prize and validate the entry". Since these are promotional giveaways and not a charity, it's obvious the sponsors don't have billions of dollars to just hand out randomly.

This marketing strategy has been ongoing for 25 years. They can afford to give away great prizes, because it comes from the advertising budget and sometimes people do purchase. I occasionally hear stories from people complaining about horrible past experiences & I reconize there are companies out there with shady tactics. Diamond Prize Center is selective and only works with legitimate companies with valuable & worthwhile prizes & there is no obligation to buy or join anything to receive these gifts.

There might be some conditions on the vacations such as limitated availability around holidays, or a minimal registration fee of maybe $20 or small refundable deposit, even so, I've gotten plenty of positive feedback from folks that were thrilled with the gifts they received and say they will participate every chance they get and tell all their friends.

The law requires you to pay state sales tax on anything over $600 in value, and most people don't have a problem with that. If they do, I guess they just don't set an appointment. A gift worth $500 and up for 90 minutes of time seems like a fair deal to me, considering most of us don't have an issue with spending several hours a day watching TV and or playing on the internet and getting nothing in return. But it's a take it or leave it deal and we can't & don't try to force anyone to participate.

In response to Haxor, the script you posted is generic & Diamond Prize Center does not use high pressure sales to book appointments. We stick with the basics of explaining the promotion and ignore the mumble jumble. Also, the sponsors don't want to deal with negativity in the claim centers, so it's not like we make a bunch of false promises or withhold information just to get people to presentations. That would be a sure-fire way to lose contracts and get ourselves fired.

Furthermore, the new reps receive a daily intensive conference call training for a month, combined with weekly or bi-weekly ongoing meetings, as well as constant online support from an experienced and professional staff. It's true they will give anyone a chance to work trial basis, but if they can't prove within a a couple weeks that they are committed, competent and honest, they are let go. There's also a verifier in charge of calling all the folks with pending appointments to assure they did indeed get all the information they need to have a positive experience.

I did my research before I ever applied with Diamond Prize Center. Basically, it's the job I've been looking for since I had my first child back in 1990. In the past, I have gotten mixed up with so many companies that just don't pay. The problem I have with this post is just what the title says, the "twisting of the truth" about how Diamond Prize Center operates & also the disregard for people out there that are desperately searching for a real job & have circumstances like transportation, childcare, physical disabilities, or other hardships that prevent them from leaving home.

Since there are so many scams out there, I just wish people wouldn't point fingers unless they do "know the facts" because it is hard enough to weed out the bad, and find good opportnities, like Diamond Prize Center.

I was *acutally* concidering to become a rep, until I found this script: Im OK with telemarking in general, but there needs to be better rebuttels to customer's objections, not this crap called high sales pressure. This is why most people hang up the d**n phone!

Are your parents set, are your siblings set? Who of them use the $25,000 to get out of debt or take a vacation?

The taxes. The people who take the vehicleit's a very find line they walk because they have to pay the State taxes and the Federal Income taxes - I think within 12 to 18 months. So if you take the Cadillac Escalade, which two of our States still have, that's like $14,000 between 2 checks you'll have to write. That's real money which is the real reason behind no single guys under 25 because in the past single guys 3 out of 10 times didn't pay the taxes.

Sir, from 1982 to 1992, three of the first 10 years when single guys under 25 years old won, they never paid the taxes. They just left with the car. The reality is these companies that put this on have already paid the taxes. So the companies go shafted on the $14,000 for the Cadillac Escalade so that's how it works. So do that three times. That equals $45,000! Now they aren't doing that anymore.





So single women can attend. Single women in the United States of America are accountable. Single guys are not. That may be harsh, but the reality is that it is reality.





What do these companies know? There is a much better chance of prize winners paying the taxes or buying something if both parties are there. One out of 4 stay behind to hear the numbers and I think half of these people do buy something. I think when you look at the manifest one out of 8 people on those sheets is a new member they bought something. One out of 8.













I don't have the time.

Of course, time is valuable & you won't ever get it back. Did you realize that if you went and received the worst prize, at a regular 40hr job, that's equivalent to making $700K a year! Time is money, and that's the worst you can do. ($500 for 1-1/2 hour = $700K)


I have no one to baby sit.

Would you be able to find a babysitter if you knew absolutely you had won the vehicle or the $25,000 for sure? Wouldn't it be worthwhile to take the chance on yourself that you may actually win? Worst case is always the 30 flat-screen TV. That's the worst you can do.

Wouldn't that be even more reason to sneak out for 90 minutes. If you win the $25,000, take a quality vacation, if you win the vacation, take it, if you win the TV, watch a discovery channel special on Hawaii, you can't lose!

Just so we're on the same pageafter the public podium presentation, only about one-quarter of the people after they are done talking about all the taxes and how it goes and how the scratch-off ticket works, only 1 out of 4 people stay behind to get more information. They want to know the exact numbers, how do you vacation for 30 cents on the dollar, how come it's not a condominium where you own 2 weeks in March that's a time share, etc.





I've seen a time share before.

What does that have to do with what I'm taking about?





Is this really legitimate?

Just to remind you, this is a 22 year State run registered contest. Have you ever walked into a mall and seen a vehicle in the middle of the mall with a little blue entry form next to it?





(Of course) Well..that's us..you've probably filled out a couple of them in your lifetime, haven't you?





For this to be a State registered contest, no matter what location I send you to nationwide, the worse case has to be either (A) a $530 gift card like Best Buy, Circuit City or- (B) a 27 to 30 inch flat screen TV worth at least $500 retail value.





How many people have won this?

I would hope quite a lot. The more people that go, the more smiles that come out of it.

My guess is over the last 25 years there have been tens of thousands of winners.

So it's not a one-on-one time share where I'm going to crank on you to sell you. I've sat through those. And the one and a half hour thing that I was supposedly going to get my family into Disney for the week ended up being 4 hours. We toured the property, we toured the condominium it was a Time Share I'm Cranking on You thing. And I almost bought it. You know, that's the worst part I almost bought the darn thing!

I'm sorry sir, but we are 3rd party verifiers for the corporate sponsors. If you have ever heard a local radio station that is running a contest, you will note that they always state at the end that no member of that radio family or their family members can participate. They do that to make sure that there is no tampering with the contest. That is what these sponsors have to do also. They are not allowed to speak with you until you show up to claim your prize.





Wants the Prize List or Claim Number emailed to them.

We are not allowed to issue anything to the people that were selected to receive prizes. We can only verify that they are who they say they are and set an appointment with them and the sponsors.

A timeshare is a deeded property, or a deeded value of time at either a given property, or group of Properties. If someone owned a timeshare with a company called R.C.I. they would receive points each year that can be traded in at thousands of places globally from hotels and cruise lines to rental car agencies. It is a very fun way to travel, since it is paid for one time, can be used for a lifetime and then passed onto the next generation. The points can also be resold to someone else to get your original investment back or even make a profit.





A vacation club is very similar, yet focuses on a more concentrated industry or company. There are cruise-line vacation clubs, hotel vacation clubs; Disney has a vacation club with all of its properties. Every vacation club is different; they all have a fun unique niche market.

For the record, I never worked for Diamond Prize Center. A friend of mine was called, but, didn't meet the verification guidelines, and, after being told he was a finalist, was then told he wasn't because he was over the age limit. Since when did a true contest require you to be a certain age, as long as you are over the age of 18?

And, I repeat, be leery of calls of this nature.

Diamond Prize Center hires 1099 work from home agents to set qualified appointments to attend timeshare and travel club presentations. In exchange for their attendance they receive one of several prizes, this varies by location and are all of substantial value. We treat our agents and clients with respect and honesty fully disclosing terms and conditions via telephone and in written email confirmation. Im sorry that this person did not find success at Diamond, many do, many are not able to make the transition from a 9-5 job to being self employed. I understand that.

For those who can, they pay is good, the commute is great, bottom line the opportunity to work from home is there. There are no fees to work for Diamond, nor will they be. Is Diamond perfect, no. Are we honest, yes! I am saddened and dismayed by this attacking posting. However when you are a company in the light of the public, it must be expected. To the person who posted I wish you the best, and to any reading, I suggest here as with all things, do your due diligence and take internet postings with a grain of salt.
