Kiosks operated by Diamond Wireless Contracted by Verizon to sell products and services in BJ’s Wholesale clubs. Diamond Wireless “supervisor” Stephanie – on toll free number states that they have a right to gather personal information for their database. Here is a chat transcript with BJ’s customer service:

Matt Vallese: Hi, my name is Matt Vallese. Welcome to BJ’s Live Chat, it will be my pleasure to assist you today.
Matt Vallese: I'm very sorry to hear that
Matt Vallese: May I ask what the issue your having is?

Mary: We entered the Hampton VA BJ's store to purchase a car charger for a cell phone. approached the "Verizon" kiosk and were "greated" by Tamara Garcia. She barely heard my request when she said - instead of a charger you can get a new phone today - Your phone is so old (I bought it 3 weeks ago) She repeatedly hammered me to buy a new phone I said no 5 Times in a row. Then she began asking for all kinds of personal information - I asked what the need was and she said she needed to create a Customer Profile! - I explained that her company had no right to my information and just sell me the adapter - She again stated that I HAD to give her the info - Violation of my right to privacy - She finally completed the transaction after taking all of the information from my credit card and entering it into this supposed Customer Profile! - She is stealing personal information - this was the worst customer LACK of Service experience we had ever had at BJ's. I mentioned that I needed to call customer service for Verizon - and she stated that she is actually a BJ's Employee. I immediately reported this to the assistant manager -

Mary: This also appears to be very deceptive and misleading business practices.
Matt Vallese: I am very sorry to hear about this
Matt Vallese: Please give me a moment while I research this for you.   This may take a few minutes.
Mary: no rush

Matt Vallese: For issues with the Verizon kiosk you will need to contact 800-922-0204. Again I am very sorry about what happened.
Mary: You don't care that she is representing herself as a BJ's employee and doing this to customers?
Matt Vallese: We do care, in order to take another look into this issue, I will need the club number you shopped at.
Mary: Give me a minute

Matt Vallese: I would like to send a message to the GM of that club for review.
Mary: The club number is not listed on your web site - here's the store we went to: HAMPTON
2000 Power Plant Parkway
Hampton, VA 23666

Telephone: 757-846-2020
