Diane Cevetto Nightmare Landlord, Lies and Steals and Treats Tenants Like Dirt Girard Ohio

Normally I am a quiet guy and I rarely complain about people and/or services. But I just have to warn others of this lady, Diane Cevetto; she has 2 addresses one in Girard, OH and  New Jersey.

Anyways, my girlfriend and I rented from her for about 2 years. At first, we thought she was a really nice lady, and we LOVED our place. It was one of the biggest apartments I've ever seen, and the price was fair enough. For the 1st year there, we had no problems. I offered to cut her grass for free, I enjoy yardwork and could use the workout. She asked me if I wanted paid, and I said no. BUT, we struck a little deal. Rent was due by the 5th of every month.

Our deal was, say my paycheck fell on the 6th, 7th, or 8th, she would let me just pay my rent then without a late fee. This was our verbal deal we had struck for me taking care of the complexes yard. Normally, I wouldn't even pay my rent on the 6th, 7th, or 8th, it was maybe 3 times I did, but hey that was part of the deal so who cares? Well, one month, about 10 months into our deal, she asked my why my rent was late. I said I had it and I'll take care of it, but remember we have a deal with the grass cutting and late fees, right?

Well she claimed to not remember this deal. So, I told her I will NOT be cutting her grass anymore, because she just did me pretty dirty right there. She called me a month later and asked me why the grass wasn't cut. Now, at this point I thought maybe her memory was going or something, because I made it clear to her the month prior I am done cutting her grass. It seemed after this, she was constantly harassing me for little things. She called one day to yell at me for the complexes dumpster being full.

I told her why am I being blamed for filling the dumpster? There are other tenants, and it was right after XMAS so of course people are going to have more garbage. She then went on to accuse me of running a business out of my apartment. I asked her what the hell was she talking about, here she was confusing my girlfriend's extreme couponing as a business? As if the extra stuff we had in our closet was stock to sell or something? I figured this was the last straw, because she seemed to be losing her mind and I didn't want any part of her any more.

So, when I looked around for a new home, one of the landlords called her and asked her if we were good tenants, and she actually told him yes, which was nice because WE ARE, but then she accosted me for not telling her I was moving. I explained to her the law states I need to tell her 30 days ahead, and it was about 50 days ahead, so what was the problem? Needless to say, she was mad we were moving because we paid our rent and kept to ourselves. So the weekend we moved, we spent all night Saturday and all day and night Sunday cleaning the place.

We scrubbed walls, scrubbed both bathrooms, swept up and then I ran a steam cleaner over all the carpets. We took pictures just in case. OF course she calls me the next week and said we left the place trashed...LOL! It was in showroom condition. Speaking of showing, she has the right to show her apartment to prospective tenants 30 days before we move,but she must give us 24 hr notice. I told her just tell me a few hours in advanced and she can come in and show people.

She couldn't even extend that courtesy to me, she would usually just come to our door with people who wanted to see the apartment and knock and say I wanna show thme the apartment, so NO notice at all! Finally I told her no, I am not letting her come in unless she gives me @ least 4-5 hr notice, again I didn't even ask for 24 hrs, but she still continued to try and get into my apartment with like 2 min notice. We never got our security deposit back, nor did we recieve a written explanation as to why and/or what she spent it on.

I was going to take her to court because I would have for sure won, but then I decided she is just a sad, mean old lady and it wasn't even worth it...its just money. I saw her in the grocery store like 4 months after we moved and she accused me of taking her gas can with me when I moved. Again, an outrageous claim. She startedyelling at me and I was with my 1 year old daughter. I told her how dare she and if she yelled one more time in front of my little daughter I would smack her across the face, woman or not, do not yell like that near my child. Phew, long story I know but I feel people should know this. DO NOTrent form her you will regret it! Please heed my words, I am not making this up, I am just an average joe and I was treated worse than a dog by this b****.
