I worked for this company for about 6 months, I have been working in customer service and department store for about 20 years now. This is by far the worst company I have ever worked for. Its all true what you are hearing from everyone on this site that they want to know your personal business and what is exactly wrong with you when you are sick. First off I want to say that anyone working for this company needs to all go on strike and find a lawyer for a lawsuit because they are breaking the laws with the american disabillity act and the hippa laws. I literally walked out on this place because no one else had the nerve to stand up except I do know that at least 2 other people walked out the same day I did. No employer has the right to envade your privacy and request the reason why you are sick. We are all people and have families and get sick once in a while and we sometimes have things or emergencies come up and its none of their business if someone needs to go to a doctor for chemo or other health or mental issues. I just wish people would start standing up for their rights and everyone would just walk out on this company or not show up and lets see how the dillards kids would feel if the whole nation of dillards employees just stop coming in and then they would see how much money they would lose in a day or 2 not having anyone there to run their stores. But if you ever work for this company dont ever let them make you feel like you are worthless and cant get a better job because there is so many companies out there that do care unlike dillards. But in all the years I have been working I never worked for a company that demanded I tell them the reason I was sick and I refused to tell dillards then when I was there and I would still refuse it at any job because they are invading my privacy and its none of their business if I had strep throat or mono or swine flu and all the other disease's and illnesses out there. So people working for dillards need to stand up for their right and fight!

BUT they have not violated HIPAA (not HIPPA) laws - I suggest you look up what HIPAA means

they are breaking American Disability Act because they want to know the exact reason why I went to the doctor and as a person with a history of cancer and epilepsy and many other things with me and family members it is none of their business why I may need to go to the doctor. It is total invasion of me or my family or other people who work for dillards and its none of their business. No they cant look up past medical records but they demand the reason why you are at a doctor and why you called out sick. So anyone who has never worked for dillards has no right to tell anyone else that they are exaggerating because no one is when they are saying all this because its all true and its the worst place I have worked no one else ever threaten to fire me as much as they did. I never seen so many people afraid of being fired.

I doubt that Dillard's has access to your Medical Records since your Physician or Hospital has those records
