Many of the appraisal requests we get at St. Lucie Appraisal come from people who have already used other independent appraisal companies who provided them with less than professional reports. Our advice to anyone who needs to obtain an automobile diminished value report in any of the 50 states is: 1) Make sure that your appraiser is licensed in at least one state. Not approved, accredited, certified, etc. but LICENSED! 2) Make sure the appraiser used only dealer quotes to formulate the diminished value. NOT auction results or formulas that use modifiers like air bag deployment. etc. 3) Steer clear of the types of appraisers that advertise at the top and right side column of your Google search pages. These companies pay a lot to advertise there so you can be sure they either skimp on services or pass the advertising costs on to the consumer. St. Lucie Appraisal's services may not be available due to the great demand for our services but if you follow the advice we have given you, your journey through diminished value h*** will be a much smoother one than the people whose compalints appear in this article.

 I also used Diminished Value of Georgia.  Obviosuly, I will not give my real name because they sue anyone that makes a negative review about them.  I had to sign away my rights to get a refund from them.  In my last 50 years alive I have never worked with such liars and bullys. They do have BBB complaints against them  and they lie about them. Also, looking at thier reviews on the internet most have 1 reviews.  They are making up the reviews.  They lie and can not get you Diminished Value.  Run dont walk away from Diminished Value of Georgia. 

I need to first clarify, that I am in fact reviewing the correct business. I contacted Diminished Value of Georgia via email, I paid Diminished Value of Georgia, I called Diminished Value of Georgia on the phone, and I eventually, did in fact receive a refund from Diminished Value of Georgia. I had been dealing with Tony aka Antoine R. who commented on this post, as a representative of Diminished Value of Georgia. I have my facts straight.

This man keeps calling me, an unsatisfied customer, a liar. Saying my reviews are complete slander Is that how you would treat an unhappy customer? Call them a liar? 

After I posted a yelp review Tony began texting me on my cell phone incessantly. 

He sent via text a photo of a desk with photos on it and writes "I will make sure to tell Lindsey's kids on Christmas that the nice lady from New York wad the reason they don't see Santa this year."

Oh MY Goodness. I didn't know real scam artist like this existed in real life. This is the stuff movies are made from (or law suits) This is a blatant example of a criminal, who scammed me out if my money, trying to intimidate me. These intimidation tactics are unethical and unlawful.  

He goes on to say (and these are all direct quotes, copied and pasted from my phone)

"Please remove your unfair yelp review".

"Diminished Value of Georgia is a separate business, you are causing damage to an unrelated company. This is not fair." 

What now? All of a sudden you don't work for this company? All day emails and phone calls back and forth and suddenly you don't work there? How then, were you offering to refund my money contingent on signing away my first amendment rights? What authority do you have? And how did you manage to respond to my email that I wrote to DVGA?   And lastly, how is it that Tony was able to reply to my Yelp review as a DVGA employee if he doesn't work for this company? I paid Diminshed Value of Georgia for services.
More blatant lies. Can you say CON ARTIST?

Tony went on to text "You are hurting real people with this." 

Am I not a real person? Is the fact that you scammed me out of my money not painful? Seriously, if your a legitimate business, what's wrong with one poor review? If this company was so concerned with feedback, they should have considered that before treating me so poorly. I have never encountered such terrible customer service in my life, and I want to share my experience so that others can learn from it.

Tony  went on to text me a total of 14 times, until I finally blocked him. He then attempted to once again prohibit my right to free speech by attempting to have this review removed. When I woke up the next day I had I fact received my refund from DVGA. I also received an email with some sob story about his personal life, which I could not be bothered to read in full. More intimidation tactics.

I have received a second email where he goes on to blame me for his loss of business. I actually had to explain that I have not fabricated a single word, I merely have shared my experience with his company. If my experience causes him to lose business, then I suggest he rethink the way he does business.  

A legitimate business man does not conduct himself in this matter.

Based on my experience, I cannot see how this is a legitimate business. I would not recommend using this company to anyone. If you need to find the diminished value of your car, simply purchase a car fax for your vehicle. Deduct the car fax price from the KBB (or if it's a brand new vehicle use the purchase price). Estimating the Diminished value of a vehicle is that simple. I never would have paid $125 for that information. It was my understanding that this company was going to do all the legwork to get me a settlement. I confirmed with Lindsey that was indeed the service I was paying for, and when they were unable to produce results, I requested my money refunded several times. I did not receive a refund until my after I wrote a yelp review, along with a note instructing me to take this review down.  Add bribery to the list of unethical actions involved in this transaction. 

I have been completely honest in all of my words. I have mislead no one, I have not exaggerated anything. And yet I am still being harassed and attacked by this company.  If anyone would like to see the emails or texts for themselves, do not hesitate to contact me.

Sarah, Diminished Value of Georgia is an auto appraisal company that serves the state of Georgia. We are not attorneys or advocates, you pay us a flat fee (in this case $125 / yelp deal) to give you an appraisal report.

1- Since you live in New York, your appraisal was issued by Diminished Value Bureau, so this review should not belong to this site but for a different business altogether.

2- The court case you are referencing was decided AFTER your accident, therefore may or may not affect your actual claim. We instructed you to contact the NY insurance commissioner because they would have the most up to date information about this matter. Since we are not attorneys we couldn't give you legal advice.

3- You paid for an appraisal report, plus, as a courtesy we gave you a demand letter and a follow up letter. You did not pay for legal representation as one was not needed and we don't offer it. Our job was to give you an appraisal that you would submit to the at fault carrier for compensation. Insurers are required by law to consider evidence you submit to them. The overwhelming majority of claims are amicably settled, in this case, the insurer and in light of this 1 month old court case took the claim in a different direction.

4- The carrier declined payment and referenced a NY Supreme Court decision that did not compel carriers to pay DV, this is something we cannot control. In addition, this court case could not relieve them from acting in good faith, something they chose not to do. You had a like new vehicle, the fact that they

5- I think your anger is misplaced and should be aimed at the carrier and the driver who hit your car not the appraisal company that was trying to help you.

6- Calling us a SCAM and posting defamatory messages is not appropriate especially since Diminished Value Bureau issued you a FULL REFUND for this transaction. A scammer would never give you a refund.

7- In reference to your first amendment rights, the letter you are referencing was something you agreed to with Diminished Value Bureau to amicably release them from the claim. Your description of this issue in your review is grossly misleading.

8- We appreciate your review but kindly ask you amend it showing that we did give you a refund with no strings attached and that we acted in good faith in trying to help you settle your loss.
