I went on the company site and only selected the $2.97 postage for the free book.  I later that day decided this was a bad situation and called their 800 number to cancel the account.

I was told the account was closed and I would receive an email stating same.  This did not occur.

A week later my bank account was hit for $139.95.  I called the 800 number to straighten out the problem.  I was told that the terms and conditions did not allow for a refund and they had no record of my cancellation.  They would not provide a company address other than the state of Utah.  They would not provide the name of anyone else to talk with stating they were not allowed to give out any company information.

They finally agreed to refund $70.  I have not seen this yet.

Stay away from this company.  I suspect it is an offshore operation.

Whenever you see an offer on the Internet from a company that just wants a few dollars for "shipping and handling" in order to send you some "free" item, you're setting yourself up to be scammed.

The real reason for the small charge is so that they can get your credit/debit card info and have a ball with it.   Their defense is invariably some small print that they have on their site that says you signed up for something that costs much more than a few dollars.

Never accept freebies that require your card info to pay for a small shipping charge.  People figure it'll only cost a few dollars, so what's the risk? Now you know the answer to that question.
