Direct Express SSI Benefit Card Cancelled my card on the first on January, apparently there was a "fraud attempt" but know one could tell me what may have been comprimised they said they would send another card, its not here, their still playing games, still no card, rent has been due. Direct Express Benefits card and Govn't , some kind of Tontine? what other possible corruption?
I was contacted over the phone about possible fraud on my direct express card on dec 18th, When I called Direct express back they confirmed it was a legit attempted and insisted they cancelle my SSDI Benefits card as of the 1st of January and they would send another one immediately for risks that my benefit money maybe taken if they're was another attempt .I did what they suggested. I sit here on Jan 10th the expected date of arrival and there is no card the other card has been cancelled and I am working with my landlord to not get a three day notice served.
When I asked what kind of fraud was attempted on the card, or what may have been compromised they could not provide that information. I understand their all lifeless pawns sitting in a phone room with a broken head sets that hardly seem to ever work. So I accepted that and went ahead with them sending the new card.
When I called back concerned about where my card may be the little girl on the phone started giving me warnings that she would hang up if I didn't lower my tone; at the start of the conversation her head set wasn't working and she could hardly hear me, and sure I was upset so I was talking loud so she could hear and the fact I was upset was surely heard in my voice (anyone else would have felt the same way) "Warning 1" she says "before I hang up, warning two" she says before she hangs up, I told her "no warnings Id liked to speak to your supervisor not you," "warning 3" she says. "No I want to speak to your supervisor NOT YOU! There are no warnings your dealing with my financees, my bills, my monthly budget. I want to speak to a supervisor" *click* Okay she could be getting a supervisor but I sat on hold for a couple minutes and it was quickly understood this Rep. wasn't fond of me, shes young and now she's playing games.
I called back and got a nicer older lady. She told me I should have recieved my card by today. I told her I knew that so where is it. she assumed it may still be in the mail because of the new year holiday. I confirmed no funds were taken off my card and decided I will not cancelle this new card yet til I see if it comes tomorrow (saturday.) Before I take option B, cancelle the 2nd card, have them deduct 13 dollars and some change, off my card so they can send it 2 days ups which really translates into ups 5-7 days for a little over 13 dollars. A choice I didn't originally go with cause, I didn't get my card compromissed they're lack of security did and I wasn't the one who insisted on canelling it incase they're really was a real fraud attempt or if it was the companys rouse to get more money in their pockets. At this point I feel their playing games so I will go with Option B. Makes you wonder. The last lady assured me that if the card was taken out of the mail they wouldn't be able to access the money. I'm pretty sure she's wrong about that, if target recently was hacked, and their was already a fraud attempt how does she think her companys security is safer than anyone elses. (as I listen to the news report of targets fraud being worse than originally thought just being broadcasted over the news.)
What I really want to know is what is the name of the government official that went with Direct Express. Who talked the govn't into doing it all this way. And what are they gaining as I sit here writing this wondering if my rent and car payment is going to be made. Are funds being trickled out somewhere to go to the last man standing is it some kind of sick millionaires club? I'd really like to know names of the people in washington d.c. and not just which department. (research Im about to embark on)
Needless to say Im pissed, Im pissed at direct express, our govn't and their processes. I'm not some stupid 13 year old that got knocked up and was given benefits which encourged me to get knocked up a 2nd or 3rd time. I averaged 40,000 dollars a year for over 30 years to have a stroke and a heart attack within 4 months and had no choice but to get assitants, insurance I paid into most my life. As I continue to recover and go back to school to start my second life. I still have a chance to get off these benefits but the govn't makes it as easy to get off assistance as they make it to get on; and Direct Express doesn't help.
