I have been disputing billing practices with DirectTV for a little over a year. I believe this may be a class action suit? Anyway, the problem is with a service I used to subscribe to called Ultimate TV by Microsoft. Back in September 2005 I replaced that Satellite receiver with a different model since DirecTV stopped supporting Ultimate TV service.

At the time of the switch, I asked that the Ultimate TV receiver be removed from my account along with any accompanying services. To my surprise, DirecTV continued to bill me $9.95 a month for Ultimate TV service. A few months back, I called them and asked that they remove the service, and I was assured that they would do just that.

I thought this was over and one with. Back on 01-26-2008 I was reviewing my bill, and discovered that they had never removed placed that service from my account. I called them and spoke with an agent on 01-26-2008 REP ID: 100164308, she assured me that a credit of $149.00 would be given to me. She asked that I wait 48 hours for the credit department to issues the credit. I called back again on 02-05-2008, and spoke with another agent REP ID: 1003024271 who explained that no record was listed of my call disputing my bill and the Ultimate TV service. She explained that the service was still on my account and I was still being billed $9.95 per month.

I once again gave her the long version of the problem, and urged her to please take the service off my account. She assured me she would, and explained that she would forward my billing dispute for a full credit to the so called CREDIT DEPARTMENT. She asked that I wait 48 hours for them to call me back.

Today 02-07-2008, I called again, only to find that my DARN Ultimate TV service was still on my account, and I was told that DirecTV can only issue a credit for 60 days.

I think it is clear that there is a problem here, and I would not be surprised in the least if other customers whom also onwed an Ultimate TV receiver with DirecTV have had the same problem?

Please let me know if this is something you can help me with or direct me in the right direction.

PS: Here is some history on the receiver I am making reference to:
