directv Dishonest and Criminal in El Segundo California
This is a copy of my BBB complaints directed at Directv:
In regards to account 46909761In May of 2012 I had Directv service installed.In August I moved so i called to have the service suspended because I was staying with family and could not have the service. By December I had an apartment so I called and scheduled the installation. The representative informed me I would be given a call back by an installer within a few days or I could check the website to find an open appointment. After a week with no phone call I went on line and noticed that no appointments were available for the next two months! I called in January and talked to another representative and told her I had not received a call and was not able to make an appointment to transfer the service yet.The representative stated she would escalate this to Corporate and I would receive a call back within 72 hours to find an installer. I waited another week with no call. I called back in February and in March with the same results..no phone call from an installer, and no appointments available within next two months. Meanwhile I asked to talk to supervisors numerous times who all documented my file of the issue and credited me back the monthly service, and installation fees as I did not have the service. The first week of March I got a call back from a supervisor who said he was going to help me resolve the issue and get me credited back the full balance since Directv was not able to install the equipment at my location. We spoke for about ten minutes but we arranged a call-back as I was at work.I did not get a call back from him though. The last call I made was either March 11th or 12th and I spoke with a very respectful and apologetic manager who informed me she read the notes left by the supervisor I spoke with before and Directv was going to credit my account for the balance owed and waive the cancellation fee. She sent a statement from Directv showing a 0 balance.On May 18th,2013 I received a notice in the mail from Nationwide Credit requesting $537.89 for the Directv account. 46909761.

Account_Number: 46909761I spoke with Elizabeth from the President ot the Directv office. She stated will give me a 60.00 credit to my bill, but will not close my account and will not honor the previous representatives statements to close my account and cancel the fees.
I reinstated the Directv service and the Directv service representative stated the collection charges will be reversed also the re-installion fees will not be charged. They declined to include the promotional channels I received under the initial contract as well.They did not provide the movers deal they advertise but they re-instated as a re-connection without previous benefits carrying over.
I expressed my disatisfaction to Elizabeth and she stated I was under contract and she cannot cancel the contract without charging me.
I am completely unsatisfied and Directv will not honor what the supervisors promised they would do for me
As you can see, on March 11th after my conversation with the Directv representative the 537.00 fee was reversed/written off. It was not written off for non-payment but for my dissatisfaction with Directv and you're inability to provide me the service I was being charged for.It is very bizarre that you could not find an installer at the address I was at and after so many conversations I actually spoke to a competent supervisor who was willing to help and write off the charge and cancel the contract. Unfortunately this billing statement only shows the credits and charges in general, not the specific reason for the transactions. If I spoke with a Rep on the 13th and they wrote off 537.00 how can you explain the reason behind that? And no communication or contact from then until my collection letter? After so much communication between January and March? This is why I am extremely unsatisfied with Directv. You're lack of consistency,communication, and willingness to help. You at the office of the President offer me only a credit based on rebates I had not received and say I am cancelling because of installation delays! You could not provide me the service!From January until May! I could not schedule installation in March in April or May either! You're supervisors never contacted me back!
I was told my account was closed and I was to owe no more balance that is why I had not called back!
Of course I do no agree with you're position as I am the victim of this horrible disservice.
I will not remove this complaint until I have a written letter from the office of the President stating I will not owe Directv a penny and my account is closed.
Anyone reading this complaint I strongly advise against ever getting service with this company or recommending it to anyone as you will be lied to and you're grievances will be swept under the rug.
On May 22nd I reinstated service with Directv to avoid collections but have decided recently to go ahead and close the account due to not being able to afford the monthly service. On 08/28/13 at 11:00AM PACIFIC I spoke with Denise (employee badge trg54833) and she said my contract had renewed for only one year and the current term was from 5/22/13 to 5/22/14. She informed me I would be charged 20.00 a month for the next 8 months I owed for the contract which would be 160.00.I repeated this back to her for verification and she confirmed. Today I received a statement from Directv with an early termination fee of 300.00.
Directv is a corrupt company and has treated me terribly since the moment I have had the misfortune to use their service.
I just want this to be over. I want this erased from my credit, I want my account permanently closed with no fees charged and a 0 balance as I was already promised.
