We had cancelled service with DirecTv the first week of September 2008. We had prepaid for the Sunday ticket back in July but were told that if we cancelled before it started we could get all of our money back. So when we cancelled service we were owed the money for that in addition to a pro-rated amount we had paid for September service. The total is $105 and some change.

At the time of cancellation we were told we would receive a reimbursement check in about 8 weeks. I called customer service on 10-21-08 just to check on the status of our check and they said for whatever reason that something on their end was not completed properly, so we now had to wait another 6-8 weeks from that date.

I called on 12-21-08 (8 weeks from the previous call) because we still had not received out check. I was informed that instead of sending us a check in the mail our account was credited the $105 owed to us. Since our account is no longer active this was of no good to us. They changed it in their system and said that we now would receive our check by 1-6-09.

On 1-6-09 I called because we still had not received it and was informed by a manager that it was on its way and we would have it by 1-16-09.

I called again on 1-19-09 and talked to a supervisor. He said that the refund was not completed due to a form not filled out properly by the last customer service representative. Now I was promised that we would receive this money by 1-26-09.

On 1-26-09 we still had not received our refund so I called customer service again and spoke with a resolution specialist. Now they are telling me it's going to be here by 2-2-09.

We have been waiting for this money they owe us for almost 5 months now. Their customer service is absolutely atrocious. They just tell you lie after lie to get you off the phone. "Managers" and "support specialists" are no better. They are an aweful company who treat their customers like crap. Beware
