Not only is this company using False advertising, they even rip you off on any rebate that was due to you. I was suppose to get a $100.00 rebate, but they waited almost three months after I sent in the rebate form and proper info.
Lo and behold, they sent everything back, minus the rebate form and said the time had expired and no rebate would be made. Of course the rebate form was no longer available on-line.
The service is slower than 56K service and a fog will knock out service for hours as will clouds and so-called storms. Nothing was ever mentioned about any of this in the ads.
I have nothing against Indian people, but I cannot understand them when trying to get customer service. I have more downtime than I do online.
I would love to have us all file a class action suit against this fraudulant company, and also stop their info-mercial. It IS NOT fast...It is however...SLOW.

Our family was a DirecWay customer for exactly 2 months. We left a fairly stable, one-way satellite configuration (land line on the upload/satellite on the download) for DirecWay. It was a big mistake. We averaged 11KB transfer rates with DirectWay, and after troubleshooting with their tech support and verifying the speed, we were directed to the fine print of the contract. DirecWay does not guarantee their connectivity speed. They said our connection was operating within their parameters.
We cancelled the account the next day. Dial up is actually faster; with DirecWay, our connection often timed out because it was so slow.
As a family, we were for the most part happy with our one-way satelitte service, DirecPC, which is a predecessor of DirecWay. Unfortunately, it is no longer available, and when we "upgraded" (yeah, right) to DirectWay, we lost our rights to return to our original configuration.
We are now investigating other companies that offer one-way satellite. There are 2 or 3 companies that appear to offer nationwide service. We want to make sure we have access to their satellites before we sign up. Until then, we are stuck with dial up.
If we find a good one-way replacement service, I will post again. I would never, never, never recommend DirecWay to anyone; quite the opposite in fact.

I can certainly understand your frustration. I, too, had Direcway for a while. I have DirecTV and I have no problems at all. Even during major storms the most I get is a flicker. I thought satellite internet would be good. I spent more time on useless tech support than I did on the internet. Every excuse in the book. Too many trees where I live (now why didn't they mention that before they installed it), foggy, cloudy, rainy. I eventually got fed up and went back to dial up.
Direcway is definitely guilty of false advertising.
