I could write an entire series of complaints about this company and still not cover it all. This company is wrong in so many ways. They manage through fear and intimidation. They use the safety director as a heavy to force you to work the way they want you to.

The only safety they concern themselves with is the safety of the cars themselves. The have no concern about driver safety, it is talk and only that. If a driver is robbed, shot or assaulted you hear about it on the news. They never inform the drivers. They want it kept quiet.

They sell you in the beginning that you are their customer and their only concern is keeping you happy.
They tell stories in training about past drivers that have built a lucrative business driving for themselves.

They hire you and tell you that you are are an independent contractor. They claim in the interview process that their only source of income is the leases the drivers pay for their taxis.

During they two day training session they send you out for 1 shift with an experienced driver. You show up in the morning grab a taxi and spend the day learning from someone with knowledge. They teach you that you can only lease/pick up a taxi between 4 am to 7 am or 4 pm to 7pm.

The next day they turn you loose on your own but it is quite different to pick up a taxi. I showed up at 4 am want to get an early start. When I arrived I discovered a line of more than 20 drivers already waiting for the gates to the yard to open.

In the summer it is already 95 degrees at 4 am and they have no place to wait inline except out in the heat. I have waited as long as 5 hours in this line. By the time you get your taxi it is well over 100 degrees.

If you arrive at 130 am you can get out by 430 am but still you wait inline for a minimum of 3 hours. Some people wait 5 hours and never get a taxi and end up going home with nothing but heat stroke and wasted gas and time.

When you finally do get a taxi as a beginner it will the worst of the worst. They lease all the marginal and unsafe equipment to the people that don'y know any better and are desperate to work.

A decent Prius will get at least 40-45 MPG the ones the lease to the newbies for the same price get between 20-28 MPG. They have issues with the brakes, seat belts, cracked windshields, bald tires and questionable and unreliable communications equipment receiving dispatches. If you complain you are suspended.

They claim to be a "GREEN" taxi company but the only thing green about half of the fleet is the paint on the cabs.

Management spends alot of time scratching their heads about the numerous accidents the drivers have.

DUH!!! You make them wait up to five hours in the heat, and then they go out and drive a 12 hour shift exhausted and dehydrated. They also lease taxis for 24 hour periods and they let all drivers exceed the DOT limit for time in service.

If you are passenger in a Discount Cab be afraid because I promise you your driver is probably sleepy and exhausted.

I built a good business for myself driving for them,, then I filed a written complaint about something that happened to me that was ridiculous. Instead of sitting down with me and hearing my side of it, the General Manager called me on the phone and told me I was suspended and to turn in my taxi.

I had never had a ticket an accident or a customer complaint. I had never failed to pay all of my charges/lease on time. Just like that they took my business away form me and flushed it down the toilet. Drivers are just a disposable resource for them.

If you decide to drive for Discount Cab BEWARE!

They also charge you $2 for every dispatch they send you and you have to pay that fee whether you pick up the passenger or not. If the passenger is a no show, changes their mind or found another ride you still have to pay Discount Cab $2.

If you go to work here check your self esteem, dignity and pride outside the gate because if you bring it with you they will destroy it.

There is so much more but I think you get it. RUN RUN RUN
