Discount Car And Truck Rentals They Lied To Me About Road Side Assistance-I Was Not Covered Dougall Ave Ontario

On Jan21st, 2009, I had scheduled a trip to Milwaukee coming from Windsor Ontario. I booked a car with Discount car and Truck Rentals a week in advance. called their "310-cars" number and when inquiring about prices and damage waiver insurance, I also inquired about road side assistance. If you rent a vehicle, it is best to make sure that your covered just in case something happened to the rental vehicle.

They had told me that yes they do have road side assistance. When I picked up my car that Saturday, Jan21st, I was also given a pamplet for road side assistance.

That day while I was driving on the freeway to get to Milwaukee, the roads were horrible. The rental car that I was driving, spun out of control hitting a guard rail just outside of Battle Creek Michigan, causing the car to not be drivable. I called 1-800 number for road side assistance, and was told that I am not covered. The reason was because it is in the US and they don't have any locations on that side of the border.

I was then put through to the Dougall Ave, Windsor location. I spoke with Justin and Sherry. They both told me that I would have to find my own way home, but Discount would reimburse me whatever money it costed me to ge thime.

The following Monday, I brought in the receipts and was told that it would take 3 weeks to recieve a cheque from them. After 3 weeks passed, I waited I more week. After no cheque showing up, I went back to inquire about my money. Justin looked up my file and I was told that I would not recieve any money from them because the accident was my fault. Although I didn't have to pay for the car because I bought damage waiver insurace, I was not going to recieve any money for the cost of getting back to Windsor.

The roads were horrible that day and the car just happened to go out of control. I never did anything deliberately to cause an accident. I hold Discount accountable for the fact that they lied to me when booking a vehicle. They should have told me that I am not covered to go to the US. ALso, by giving me a pamphlet for road side assitance when yout not even conered, is misleading information itself. THat is corrupt of them to do that to customers.

I will never rent from them again and advise others not to. I am in the process of suing them. These companies don't care about their reputation. All they know how to do is lie, cheat and manipulate. They don't care that when they screw someone, they will never do business with them again.
