Discount Mortgage Relief is a company full of lying scum bags! We are on the verge of losing our home because of this "company". We saw a commercial on tv for them and decided to call in because we were tight on money and wanted to get our mortgage payments reduced. They promised us that they would handle everything for us and that they had a stellar success rate.

We sent them all of our paperwork and they informed our bank that they would be representing us. They told us to stop making our payments and not to have any communication with the mortgage company because it would hinder the process. I felt like they were really going to help us. I was so wrong!! They repeatedly had random employees call us every couple of weeks to request the same document that we had sent them numerous times. Every time, we dropped everything and resubmitted the paperwork immediately. Every time they confirmed that they received it. (Now I know that this is part of their scam).

We started receiving letters in the mail from our mortgage company saying that we were in default and that they would be proceeding with foreclosure. We contacted David Romore (our "account rep") at Discount Mortgage Relief in regards to this and he told us to ignore these threats and that the bank was just trying to scare us because they knew that we were eligible for a modification. I actually trusted him! This went on for a couple of months, and we were no longer hearing from DMR. Every time we tried to call David for an update, they would transfer us to random departments so that they didn't have to deal with us. No one could give us answers, except that they were "currently in negotiations with our mortgage company". They could never provide proof or tell us who they spoke with.

We were finally served with foreclosure papers and decided that there was a possibility that we were being scammed. After checking the internet and seeing all of the other stories of home owners that were ripped off, we called our mortgage company to figure out what was really going on. They told us that the ONLY contact they EVER had with DMR was a letter stating that they would be representing us. They never heard from them again. (Our mortgage company is required to document all communication that takes place for each account.) We immediately called DMR, who told us our bank was lying! They would not admit anything. We told them that we were done with them. We spoke with our bank ourselves and are in the process of resolving this mess. By following their advice, we are very close to losing our home, and our previously excellent credit score is ruined and I can't even get a credit card now!

We then filed a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General to get our money back (thousands of dollars!). DMR's response to the complaint was that WE were in the wrong because we did not follow their process. They claimed that we failed to submit the paperwork that they required to finish the modification and that the only reason the bank was working with us now was because of the negotiations that they already had with them (the ones that never took place!)

If you are considering working with this company, please do not fall for their scam like I did. I consider myself a very intelligent person, but I really thought that this company was legit. I promise you, they will rip you off. And I'm sure that they will respond by saying that I am just unhappy and try to spin it to make it look like everything is my fault. They are very good at that, and that is the basis of their whole scam. They already know how they are going to shift the blame before you even work with them. They have made sure that they have all of their bases covered so that they don't have to give you a refund. Their contract is a joke! It states that if they can't get the job done, they'll refund your money. The only problem is, they will do nothing, and continually tell you that they are working on it so you can't get your money back. When you finally lose your home or get smart and cancel with them, they state that you are in breach of contract.

They are LIARS! DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS! If there is anyone out there organizing a class action law suit, PLEASE contact me. I would love to testify against these disgusting people.
