I took my BMW to Discount Tire at Evans/281 in San Antonio a few months back to have the air checked because it was riding a bit funny after the weather cooled. The next morning, the tire pressure sensor went off. I drove back and they let air out and reset the sensor - saying they over-pressurized the tires. Later that day I drove 50 miles out the country and the car got harder and harder to steer. I pulled over at a gas station to check the pressure and it was totally empty. I filled it up and the air flew out of the valve stem which had a huge crack on it at the base. They BROKE the valve stem airing the tire, and since they reset the sensor, I had no idea the tire was flat and was driving on it all day. I had to pay out the rear to get my run flat fixed at another shop out of town. I called them to complain and no one ever returned my call.

You would think I learned my lesson but I didn't. I took the BMW to the Discount Tire at 281/Brookhollow a few days ago to have my tires rotated because I had already paid for the lifetime rotation warranty. Before I even got the counter guy outside to see the car tires, he asked when the last time I had bought new tires was because it wasn't showing in his system. Then he said the belts were busting through and he wouldn't even try to rotate them at this point they were so bad - he told me I needed new back tires right now. I put my fiance on the phone who shut him down. He didn't even know what he was talking about - the car had newer run flats on them and the tires were fine! I decided not to let them rotate them after all because I didn't trust them at that point. So, I drove it around to have the air pressure checked and tires aired because of the recent cold weather. Well guess what, now ANOTHER valve stem is BROKEN just like the other one and my tire is flat again. Coincidence, I think NOT.

Never, never, never again will I trust this company to take care of my car tires. Maybe it's because I'm a girl in a newer BMW that they think I'm rich and stupid or something, but guess what, go find yourself another dummy. This one will take her tires to someone who's above board. Shame on you!

You should file a COMPLETE report here, and with the corporate offices

Your report here is incomplete.

You never mentioned the DATE you initially bought the tires, nor did you state how many miles were on them. This is very important information.

Maybe you should scan in your reciept.

Gather all of your pertinent information and file a written complaint to the Discount Corporate Office.

How old are the tires? You say "Newer" but dont say how old they are.

Also, at what part on thesevalve stems did the break occur and do you park the car in the San Antonio sun?

My guess is old tires and sun baked rubber.
