Person called claiming to represent my banking institution, stating we were such good customers they were going to send us some FREE gifts. They asked if they could read their spiel.

When I interrupted with a question, they had to immediately stop (apparently they have a time limit to do this spiel, b/c they were super-fast and you couldn't understand a word they said). Since I declined for them to re-read their spiel, they asked if I just wanted them to send me the information. My answer was "sure".

When I started receiving multiple "offers" in the mail for trial memberships, the red flag came up. Then I received my cc statement. There were multiple charges on it for these companies to mail me the information. No-one said anything about charging me to mail information to buy THEIR product.

Not to mention, HOW did they find out my cc# in order to bill these items. I did not, in any way/shape/form give them my permission to charge anything to my credit card.

I did call my credit card company, reported to the fraud department what I believed to have happened, and disputed these charges (this was after calling a couple of the companies, only to have them deny my request to credit my account for the charges). My credit card company honored my request to refute the charges and they are investigating.

Only through contacting all these companies to please cancel the membership that I never wanted in the first place, did I find this site that mentioned Discover Enterprise. Imagine my surprise when I read something from someone that sounded like my story. Hence, my report here.

I cannot claim for sure that this is the company misrepresenting themselves as my banking institution, but I do believe they are scheming people out of hard-earned money (i.e. my letter states they have accepted my magazine selections, at a whopping $19.98 per month, up to 48 mos of service; the next sentence states "for your convenience, your 24 monthly payments of $39.96 will appear each month on my cc statement...". In writing, they have doubled your payment in two consecutive statements, with the hopes that you don't notice their "mistake". $40 per month for 48 months is a total of $1,920 for two years of magazines!! Craziness.

This is a travesty and they should be reported and fined and stopped.
