Dish Network - Echostar Dish Network, Sling Media, EchoStar Technologies L.L.C., EchoStar Satellite Services, EchoStar International, and EchoStar Europe. Purchased HD-DVR for $500. Leased one, Sent back wrong reciever. Will not give me credit. I asked why would I give you back $500. for nothing? They said sorry. There is nothing we can do. Salem, Massachusetts

Purchased HD-DVR from Dish Network. (3 rd one) I am a Dish subscriber sense 2000. Had Echo star in Florida for 5+ years.

I gave away my first box to someone that needed it. I sold my second box on E bay. The third box has been replaced at leased 3 times. The first one That I owned was working fine and there was never a problem with it. I added a second box for a dieing member of the family. That box was replaced the most, Keep on moving it back from room to room to watch TV. After the passing, I keep ed the box and service until my wife lost her job.

I down graded service and asked the service adviser on the phone,"does it matter which receiver I send back because I own one of them?" No, we will show you owning the last one. Now this receiver quit. I need to see what I need to do. Dish Network told me that I sent them the receiver I owned two years ago and they owned the one I have now.

I sent a letter to the Echo Star executives with the same story. I have not heard back from them.

I just wanted the receiver back if I still own it. Just give me a credit for the one I sent back, Oh yes, I was told I received a $10.00 credit for the receiver I paid $500 for. I asked the service rep. would you buy a TV and then just give it back to the company that made it? How about a cell phone or a receiver? He just keep ed saying sorry. I can't help you.

My advice to anyone is like the stock market. Do not buy any thing unless you can not afford to lose it. The digital age and the products that require fans to keep cool should be a sign that You will be needing to replace it sooner than you think. I have two plasma TVs one is 5 years old. The inputs don't work except the Y plugs. This TV is just before HDMI. The TV works great other wise.
