#21 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Never had an issue....

AUTHOR: Mkc75 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 26, 2007

I am an Ex-employee of this company. I was an CSR in a call center and I fielded many calls of people that were unhappy with their service. Most of the time it was a simple fix for the issues that I dealt with. A LOT of the time the customer didn't read their contract or understand the fine print. I will say that the RA dept was not all that great at getting boxes out to people to return the equiptment. But to say that it is impossible to get a cancellation, change programing and the like, I find very difficult to believe.

All though I am no longer employed with the company and my employment experience with DISH is less than good. (left for political and personal reasons, was not sacked or laid off.) I am still a subscriber to DISH. I have NEVER had an issue with changing my programming. In fact I just down graded my programming with out a fuss at all.

Supervisors

AUTHOR: Mattfast1 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 15, 2007

Supervisors are very busy people at DISH Network - there's about one of them to every 70 or so agents. You do have to wait for a supervisor at times. Also, a supervisor isn't going to offer anything different than what the agent can offer you. The supervisor is going to tell you the same thing the agent will tell you. The wait for an agent is far less than the wait for a supervisor, who will tell you the same things and do the same things.

You do have to be willing to actually WORK with someone to get anything done.

Pay your bills!

AUTHOR: Mattfast1 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 24, 2007

If you don't pay your bills to many providers/services (credit cards, TV, phones, etc.), not only do you have that service disabled, but many times you are also reported to one of the three national credit bureaus, and your credit ranking will drop like a stone from the Empire State Building. You will ALWAYS (eventually) be reported to a collections agency as well. Don't use the "I don't want service anymore, so I just won't pay my bills" tactic - it will often cost you more than it would have to call and cancel.

It seems DISH does pick up their phones, judging from the number of people I see answering calls every day. However, the trainer of the CSR/TSR seems to matter. Also ask them if they are a current 'academy' student - the Academy is the last part of the training program, and they will have a coach nearby. Also, ANY time you hear "your call may be recorded or monitored for training and quality assurance", your call is being recorded. Don't know how long the recordings are kept for, but everything is always recorded so companies can playback what you agreed to if they get sued.

calling helps

AUTHOR: Gharris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 08, 2007

It's been my experience that DishNetwork knows nothing of the things being done by their CSR's. I had a really awesome conversation with Charlies assistant and even after calling Charlie a ripoff artist, she took my phone call and did so with great care. Her name will not be given because i promised her and it just wouldn't be prudent to do that to her. But she was extremely nice and made sure that my problem was taken care of. It was then forwarded to another member of the company who shall remain nameless but was equally understanding. Calling helps but attitudes don't maybe we should take into context the fact the DishNetwork doesn't know everything that is going on in the company because people inside the company don't want them to know. The supervisors hold much information back before it goes any further and if marked resolved, the company will think it is resolved unless there's an audit of phone calls or something> I have a few tips i'd like to share.
1. Always ask that the CSR record the conversation. If they say they can't, ask for a supervisor then ask them to record the conversation.
2. Make sure that your phone calls to anyone in the Corporate Office be addressed by only supervisors. They have the ability to override the CSR's you talk to on the phone.
Thru the phone call to the Corporate office, i was able to get my issue resolved in a timely manner. Oh yeah, I LOVE DISHNETWORK, in my opinion they're better than DirecTV who overcharged me many times and even brought an unresolved fraud case against my account.

THERY ARE CROOKS and I hope these other ladies are happy with their Direct TV after what DISH put all of us through!!

AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 26, 2005

BRENDA!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the phone numbers!!!!!!!!!

I have been dying to talk to that Charlie for ages to see if I can get some help!!
We just let it slide for so long, but now we want to get the programming reduced to the basic or shut off entirely. We just cannot afford it anymore.

THERY ARE CROOKS and I hope these other ladies are happy with their Direct TV after what DISH put all of us through!!!!!!!!!!

We are tempted to just join Netflix for the small fee every month and watch dvds instead of having any dish after what we have gone through/

HI JANET, they are liars and jerks!!!!!!

AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 26, 2005

SORRY you had such problems with them-they are liars and jerks!!!!!!

I am in the country and can't get cable or the network channels like NBC,etc-so I depend on the DISH for the programs I like--------from NBC,ABC and CBS. You cannot even reach them on the phone to cancel-the only way is to just NOT PAY and they will shut it off that wAY.
EVERYONE LOVES DIRECT TV----------they have really good channels,too-like the Hallmark channel and way more pay per View and they give lots of free weekends of Starz, etc and they have never cheated anyone that I know of.
I would never give them my credit card either.
My friends have had plroblems with massive overcharges.

One time they gave my uncle the free HBO weekend and NEVER SHUT IT OFF and he had to pay for months and he never wanted it,but could not reach them by phone!!!!!!!

I am just going to NOT pay and let them shut it off and get Direct TV,too!!!!!!

I wish I could get a hold of the higher ups,too-like that chbarlie chat that comes on tv.

Dish IS UNRESPONSIVE to phone calls

AUTHOR: Janet - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 26, 2005

I believe you spent 87 hours on the phone to no avail. The call center is a waste of time & I believe they cover for each other and their incompetancies.

I was with the call center several hours today trying to work my way up the food chain to find someone who not only understood the problem but cared that the company uses bait and switch tactics, found two different versions of their stories as I worked through 6 different people, and refused to provide me with a number for corporate offices so I could make sure executives were aware of what was going on--how can they improve anything when they are unaware of the incompetancy?

I am glad to learn from other imputs what kind of company they really are as I can get out now (thank heavens I did not use a credit card to pay so I will not have that rip off and fight)--I can just quit paying - since I purchased the equipment they can't take that away and charge me!!!!

I wish I had read these reports before signing up with Dish at our Texas home--we have cable where we live in Ohio (near Cleveland) and have had virtually no trouble in 20 years with cable (just increased rates)!

Dish executives appear to have lack of concern for customer service, satisfaction, or intelligent resloutions to inequities---only want to make sure they get you to sign on the dotted line so they can take your money,

Glad to hear Direct TV seems to have satisfied customers. At least gives us an option.

Finally.....

AUTHOR: Marcie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 25, 2005

I FINALLY got my boxes at my new house yesterday and dropped their equipment off at the UPS store last night. Now we'll see how long it takes them to say that they received them. I know it shouldnt take more than a couple days at most.

Also, the man at the UPS store toldme to make sure I kept the tiny number sticker at the bottm of the pre-paid label paper they sent me. He said that this is my receipt and proof that I sent it to them. How funny that not one of the Dish reps I spoke to told me that. Each one told me what I had to return, but not one told me to keep the sticker. Apparently, they prefer to keep former customers ignorant about that fact, as it would undoubtedly make them more money. Is this supposed to be punishment for leaving their crappy network? What a bunch of creeps. Dish Network, why dont you give me a big kiss you-know-where, and make sure that you follow this rule - BOTH CHEEKS, BOTH LIPS!!!

How in heavens name does the CROOKED DISH NETWORK stay in business

AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, February 24, 2005

HOPE YOU GOT YOUR BOXES!!!!!!
Thanks,I didn't think the installers would work in this weather
We have basically the same weather as you do in Cleveland!

The only reason I kept the dish was because I am in the country and cannot get NBC,ABC AND CBS on the regular antenna and there are a few shows I like.

I will try to get a hold of Direct TV ASAP.
My Sister in Ohio LOVES it and they ANSWER THEIR PHONES!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree...Dish is sub par with just about everything

AUTHOR: Marcie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 23, 2005

I cancelled my Dish service due to a move almost a month ago and STILL have not received my boxes to send them back their equipment. First they sent the boxes to my old address after they VERIFIED with me that I wanted them at my new address and read the info to me. Then I spoke to someone else 2 weeks ago and said they would send new boxes. As of today, still nothing so I called AGAIN and was told the boxes would be delivered to my new address today. We'll see - I wont hold my breath.

We decided to get Direct TV instead at our new house and you are absolutely right - they are way cheaper, programming is much better, and they give you equipment for free as well (after a rebate, but still FREE) so you dont have to deal with the hassels and extra charges when you dont return them their junk to them "on time". And one more thing, you can probably get Direct TV now instead of waiting. We got our equipment installed last week and there is snow on the gound here.
