Had to move and decided to switch to Dish to bundle tv and internet.  First indication that I got ripped of was that I was promised a bunch of channels that I don't actually have unless I pay $50/month more for; they "farm out" the internet part to Century Link which is notoriously bad in regards to customer service - had I known that I probably would have never switched.  A week later the tv satellite was hooked up...no problems there.  The tech made sure to point out that I should give him all "10" scores on follow-up survey.  Whatever.  The following week (yes, they make you wait a week after tv hook-up), the Century Link tech shows up and says my inside line is not good and she can't possibly touch that and I would have to have someone else run a line.  I happened to have a handyman there later and he did it in literally less than 2 minutes.

It didn't require going under the house, or climbing a ladder, it was something I could have done myself while she was there had I known how easy it was.  I called the tech back after two days of no contact to see when she would come out again, she replied that she had nothing to do with that I needed to take it up with Dish.  Called Dish about 12 times; online chat another 3 times, and am up to e-mail #10.  They all tell me how important I am to them, I can have HBO for only $10/month for the inconvenience, and that they can't help me and I need to call some other number, and when I call that number they either 1) claim they can't hear me, 2) have too much background noise (kids screaming, etc.) to hear me, or 3) tell me that I have to take it up with Century Link.

Meanwhile, they have taken my payment promptly for internet I should have had on 11/01....it's now 11/19 and as far as I know they aren't planning to come out and finish the job.  I tried finding phone numbers or web addresses for other entities in the company, maybe someone a bit higher who might actually listen to me and not just follow a script, but the e-mail address comes back "undeliverable".  Years ago I had Dish and their customer service was great, but I absolutely will not recommend them to anyone anymore and I've posted warnings on Yelp, Google, Facebook, and have talked about my experience with every friend/acquaintence I have who ask for referrals.  I may just bite the bullet and cancel with them and pay the damned monthly amount for two years so that I can go back to what I had, which actually provided customer service and internet.

Dear DIsh Network

AUTHOR: James - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Dear Dish Network, This is just another example in a long line of screw ups by you. While us Independent Dealers stood by your side helping you take care of the customer.

Even while you called us names and stabbed us in the back. We stood by you to take care of the customer even when you couldn't stand by us. But it was you that was doing the lying, cheating and only supporting those who thought like you.

I have had customers call me up after the Tech told them we don't do that. What do you mean you don't do that, TV Antennas, phone lines and anything else a Satellite installer should be able to do for the customer. If the customer has the TV and mount I charge the customer 60.00 to install the TV. But you being ungrateful would charge the customer between 100.00 to 150.00 to do the same job.

I have a surprise for one of you Tech's on one of my customers. Where I made up a Band Pass Filtering device to mix the TV Antenna, Satellite Signal and Channel 3 all on one cable. I sent Satellite and TV Antenna to the Living Room and sent the Channel 3 back up the same cable . Then I mixed the Antenna and Channel 3 and sent them to the Bedroom.

This may come to you has a big surprise after you get done taking everyone's money and pissing them off. Who is going to take your service. Without the support of a happy customer none of us would have a job.

Not all Independent Dealers are the same and we are bound by the same Dish Network rules. But when you support the Manufacturer and not us, then how do youe expect us to help you.

I give a ! year warranty on my installs and if you had checked Dish only gives a 90 day installation warranty. I know of other Dish Network Dealers who also give a 1 year installation warranty.

I once went out to a customers house to talk to her about bundling her service. After the talk she concluded that it would cost her more to bundle. I didn't even charge her a service call.

So in the end you get what you pay for. So since you paid nothing you got exactly nothing back.
