Dish Network Charges You & Makes You Do Their Work If You Quit Their Service Internet

Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

Dish Network offers new customers deals and perks, and after you sign they have technicians install their equipment in and on your home (although the installation is of poor quality).  They do give some minimal perks along the way as long as you continue service.  It is understood up front that if you terminate service prior to the end of the initial contract period that there will be additional charges.

What is not so clear is that if, after being a loyal customer for years, you decide to stop their service then they fully expect you to uninstall their set-top boxes, climb on your house to disassemble the receiver from their dish, and then pack up their equipment for shipping in their boxes.  Then after you are given the task of finding a UPS store that can accept their 24x12x9 box, they charge you the shipping cost of $17/box for returning their equipment to them.

In my humble opinion, if they install their equipment in/on my house then they should be responsible for retrieving said equipment if they want it back.

Guess you never did read your contract.  Additionally, if you don't return the equipment in a timely manner, they will charge you for it, too.  It's in the hundreds of dollars.  They aren't doing anything YOU didn't agree to..there is NO Ripoff here.

Again, "your humble opinion" doesn't matter, You DID agree to do this.  If you want them to, perhaps they would for a service charge.  But , they aren't contractually obligated to do so...you ARE.  The receiver removal is NOT the big deal you make it out to be. You disconnect a couple of cables and unplug it from the wall outlet and you're done.

BTW, I don't work for them, but have used their service for years and HAVE read MY contract.
