Dish Network seems to not be worried if they violate the law or not, and they sure aren't concerned about ethical buisness practices.

Two and a half years ago, I wanted them to come install the system. There was a 24 hr guarantee that it would be installed after you called. Of course, they were too busy to honor this agreement. Not only that, they stiffed me on two scheduled appointments-they kept me waiting all day twice!

The dynamic duo finally arrived and spent all day trying to install the system. I say trying because they seemed too inept to know what they were doing. They left without the system working, saying they had a defective part and would return the next day. Not only that, they did $600 damage to my house, which the company never paid for. Needless to say, I didn't sign any agreement whatsoever. The two dweebs never returned-I myself got the thing to work, and I have no experiance in tv systems!

I spent the next 2 years actually getting reception. Stupid me, I should have sent them packing the first day, especially after they refused to fix my home. However, a few months ago they sarted jacking me on the bill for mysterious charges. The programming was 200 channels of nothing on, and finally the crappy thing started not working most of the time. Of course they stood me up on the service call, were rude with me, and I even caught them trying to bill me for the service call they never made!

Enough as enough. I told them to bore it and stroke it, and fired these inept morons. However, it only gets even worse at that point.

Dish Network wanted me to actually dismantle their system for them-you know, the system I supposedly 'leased'. Dish Network's idea of rented equipment is funny, as you have to rent it, don't own it or get to keep it, but yet have to PAY THEM to fix it! Funny definition!!! Not only that, they-without my consent or permission, or bothering to call me-were actually sending UPS to pick it up! I told them flatly that I did't install it, I was not a technician, and I'll be danged if I was going to risk me damaging something and them demanding I buy them new stuff. I gave them 3 options: (1) send someone to take it apart and pick it up; (2) write it off as a loss and I would throw it away; or (3) sign a release of responsibility and pay me to dissassemble it for them. Of course, they rejected all three.

They are trying to get more money from me for not returning their crap to them. They told me about what my contract said, blah, blah, blah. I reminded them I have NEVER signed a contract. They insisted I did, so I called their bluff and said prove it, fax me a copy to me. They fooled around and finally did. Interesting document, no date on it, no initials on the places that are supposed to be in, and a signature that a retarded fifth grader can plainly see is not mine.

They are now telling me just to send them the receiver and remote, despite the written instructions to the contrary. I said sure, but state this in writing as I just saw the sheriff and the DA to report that you guys seemed to have committted forgery, and that your company seems to have problems telling the truth and 'forget' what you tell folks. Lo and behold, the corporate office refused to do this. I asked why and they said because its in your record now anyway. I said super, it shouldn't be any problem for you to print me off a copy of these records for my protection, and again they refused. Finally, I even asked if they would mind if I recorded the conversation so they could not recant that they would be satisfied with just getting the receiver and remote back-guess what-they refused that as well!!!!

My thoughts on this is that Dish Network just wants to try to screw me out of more money, probably their tactic would to 'forget' they told me they would just be ok with receving the remote and receiver. Probably a few months or years later, they would demand I pay them for the rest of the system, and then trun me over to a BS collection agency to pay them to leave me alone.

I explained this to the rep on the phone and told her where to go. I also told them take me to court, I'll be happy to let a judge see what seems to me to be a clearly forged signature. I also explained to these folks that if you don't have a legally signed document, you can't enforce squat. However, these jerks seem to think that they are above the law, even with faced with a potential criminal investigation.

DO NOT give these people the time of day. Presently, I have the Pre-paid legal, and have referred it to my attorney, who informs me they are talking out of the sides of their heads. The thing that I am angriest about, however, is people coming into my house, damaging it, and then trying to tell me what to do.
