After our contract with Dish Network ended we were told that boxes were being sent via UPS so we could return our equipment. After waiting two weeks the boxes never came. We called three times over the course of a month asking where the boxes were. During this time Dish Network charged $300 to our bank account claiming we refused to return equipment. After several calls we finally were able to have them email us a UPS label. We had to provide our own boxes (yet another expense).

Dish Network recieved our equipment in early November 2007. We waited 5 business days for the $300 to be returned, it never happened. I called Dish Network and was told there was nothing they could do, I just had to wait. I spoke with two supervisors and they both told me the same thing.

It is now November 26, 2007 and my $300 has not be returned. They have had my equipment (and admit to having it) for over three weeks now. I called them again this morning and spoke to yet another customer service rep (who was VERY rude) and then a supervisor (again VERY rude) and was told I just had to wait it out.

This is the latest issue I have with Dish Network. I would also like to mention that I was supposed to receive $100 back in the form of $5.00 of my bill each month. We filled out a total of six forms which Dish Network provided. Each time they claimed they never received the form even though Delivery Confirmation was provided. In the 18 months of service (we were under contract) with Dish Network they never gave us the $100 back. It is my opinion that the whole "Cash Back Bonus" program is a scam.

Also, our contract ended with Dish Network a month ago. Equipment was returned and we have NOT had service at all with them yet we are still being charged the regular monthly fee. I called to ask how this is possible and they said that until the paperwork was finalized we would continue to be charged the regular monthly fee. When asked how long it would take I was not given a direct answer but told "It takes time and to be patient". So I am not being charged for a service I am not using, do not have equipment to use, nor do I want to use.

I also asked Dish Network to remove the ugly dish that is still on my property and was told it could take several months. I was told that if I myself removed the dish from MY property I would be fined. RIDICULOUS! I was also told that all the wires (and there are several) that are now hanging from my house could not be removed or touched.

I'd also like to mention that when Dish Network came to install our dish they cut and ripped all of the cable wires coming into my home. When we began our normal cable service I was told that what they did was illegal. The cable company spent 3 hours repairing and replacing the lines into my home. When Dish Network cut and ripped the cable company wires from my home they also damaged my house, causing several holes in the siding which they claim they do not need to repair. I was told it was "All a part of installation of the dish".

I have called Dish Network literally hundreds of times over the course of my 18 month contract. I held up my end of the deal by paying my bill on time each month and returning their equipment. Each time I called for answers or to compain about service (which was awful) I was met with attitude. The customer service reps are VERY rude and the information they give is not correct. I would be told one thing one day and the next day something totally different.

Here I am 19 months later and still waiting for my $300 equipment fee to be returned. I called Dish Network today to once again check on the status of my refund and the floor supervisor Jennifer was VERY rude, kept interupting me and would not provide me any helpful information.

BEWARE!!! Dish Network is a scam!!!!

Okay, so lets break it down for ya. you signed up with one of our promotions that causes you to be in a contract. with that you have the option of adding DHPP to your acct. that covers all of your equp. Now just like all of our disclousres read when we have to read them to you, states and i quote "IF OUR TESTING DEPARTMENT RECEIVES YOUR EQUIPMENT AND DETERMINES THAT THERE IS CUSTOMER DAMAGE, YOUR DISH NETWORK ACCT, CREDIT CARD, AND ANY OTHER CREDIT CARDS USED IN YOUR ACCT, WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE EQUIPMENT". So if that is qualified then thats the reason that you still have not rcv'd that money back yet and will not rcv it back.

Now with the issue with the mail-in-credit, you must submit it and us rcv it with in 60 days of signing up for the promotion, and you must allow 8-10 weeks for it to be processed. If it was longer than that 60 day period, then you where not going to rcv any of it.

Hence Mr. Ergen's title 'CEO'. I never denied that he was a controlling force in the company, and yes, he is the founder and did own the company at one point, but none of that means he is the sole owner now.

Thank you for your post Matt..please also note the Mr. Ergan is the founder of Echosphere the parent company of Echostar. It may have many "owner's" but the buck starts and stops at his door.

Mkc75 gives good advice - tell the next agent you want to speak to the Executive Resolution Team, or Charlie Ergen himself, as you have exhausted all other options with previous CSRs. However, I would like to point out that this company is not owned by Charlie Ergen - Echostar Communications (the parent company of Dish Network) is traded on the New York Stock Exchange (symbol: DISH) - and therefore has many, many owners.

It will not be easy, but if you can get through to Mr. Ergan's office, it could be worth it.
