I have been a customer of Dishnetwork for about 1 year now and my account has been in good standing. I chose to use something called "autmatic bill pay" which means my bill is deducted monthly from my checking account. Last month, I called Dishnetwork to set up an extension or "promise to pay". The 1st representative I spoke with informed me that because I have automatic bill pay set up, they were unable to give me the extension I asked for. I then asked her to remove that feature from my account. She told me she would do that. I then asked for an extension for two weeks after the date that my bill was actually due. She told me that it was not possible. She could only give me 3 days after my bill was due. I then said if there was nothing she could do for me, then so be it. I waited for about 20 minutes and thought it odd that all they gave me was a couple of days.

I decided to call back. This time, I spoke with a man who seemed very eager to help me and very friendly. I gave him the rundown on my situation and what was discussed with the previous representative. He first of all noticed that the automatic bill pay was still in place and had not been removed, as promised. He told me he fixed that. I then asked him for and extension for 12 days out. He told me he would set that up for me also. He reminded me to call my payment in because I did not have automatic bill pay. Yesterday, my service was shut off and I hit the roof. I am 10 days away from the extension date I was given. I contacted Dishnetwork and was told that there was no documentation or record of any arrangements made by their customer service department. They refused to even try to rectify the situation in any way shape or form. I spoke with a total of three people. A man in their accounting department was extremely rude and flippant with me and very short. I then spoke with someone on their executive level and was told the same thing. Customer service is unorganized and they are liars. I understand that it basically boils down to my word against the representative's with whom I had the arrangement with. However, they went above and beyond to show me that they have absolutely no regard for their customers and could care less about making sure that their customer service department is on point. It will now cost me $280 to break my contract plus the payment I asked for the extension on. I am disgusted and if I could, I would do my best to make sure that absolutely no one uses Dishnetwork!
