DishNetwork Not worth the money! ripoff Tamarac Florida

Like many people who have written reports on this site, I am not satisfied with Dish Network at all. I used to have cable service with internet included. The cable seemed to be getting too expensive so I switched to Dish. I wish I hadn't! In order to have the satellite service you must have a telephone line, so I ordered the most basic phone service from Bellsouth with DSL. The Dish Network bill (I have the America's 120 package)telephone bill and dsl service is now higher than it was with cable because of all the ridiculous taxes and random fees.

In addition, the satellite signal goes out even during the lightest rainstorm. During a hurricane, I can understand, but when it's just raining? I also keep getting messages that I will incur charges if I don't keep the receiver connected to my phone line. It's always connected! Obviously the service doesn't work well and it's not worth the money at all!

To top it off, the tech who installed my service was a lazy jerk. He did not want to get up on the roof of my 2 story building to install the dish. He was afraid he would fall..isn't it his job to install the dish on the roof??

My condo association needed a copy of his license and insurance so they requested a fax from the company. The tech claimed he couldn't get in touch with his supervisor during the day to ask for the fax. I asked him why he isn't able to contact his supervisor when all service techs have a cell phone and a beeper. He sat in his truck for about an hour saying he was calling his supervisor for the fax.

I got fed up and confronted him by saying "It seems like you really just don't want to do this job today. Should I cancel and find another comapny who is willing to install my service?" Eventually he came in to install the service.

It seems that some Dish Network employees just don't care about their jobs. I should not have to argue with a service tech to install my service when that is the very reason he is at my house! I do have a contract with them for another year but I might just cancel and go back to cable. The fee for cancellation is $240. I wonder if I just stopped paying how long it would take for them to disconnect me and would that balance end up being more than the $240 fee? Anyone have any ideas??
