I purchased a razor phone from sprint approx. 1 1/2 years ago. I decided to terminate my plan early, I paid for the phone and the cancellation charge. Ok, yes I was late, and it did take me a couple months, but I did pay the balance. I sent it to the creditor at that time.
About 5 months go by, and I think " I'm in the clear, I paid it, won't be hearing about it ever again". Unfortunatley with the time lapse, I threw all documentation away, thinking I was through with it.

Boy was I wrong, around the time I was qualified for the economic stimulus, I start getting letters and phone calls for the same exact amount that I paid months earlier. Initially I was really upset, and probabley didn't say some nice things to the first person that called, I hung up. A few days later, a different person called. I thought perhaps if I was patient, and explained myself she might stop calling. I told her I didn't have proof, and I didn't want to pay that amount again, I decided I would just take it as a loss on my credit report. She said "ok, I'll make a note of it, we will no longer call you".

Today, I recieved another phone call from a very pushy woman from this same collection agency. I explained to her, my last phone conversation, she wouldn't hear it. In a very condescending way she said "well why would you want to harm your credit?". I lost it, I couldn't help it. I've just finished writing a dispute letter, informing them I'm aware of my rights under FDCPA act. I'll be surprised if they come up with the proper validation of the debt. Which if they did, would show I don't owe anything. I sure hope nobody from that agency ever calls me again.
