I used to work here, did not take me very long to figure out why people were leaving like busboys in a restuarant, the manager named steve is without a doubt one of the biggest jagoffs on the planet, this f*cker turned what should be a halfway decent workplace into a sweatshop "h*lls kitchen" episode all of its own, just like the other complaints about the managers listed on this place, they tell you that you are too slow (even though you are a trainee)and trying to bring up(more less invent) stuff you alledgedly did wrong as well.
after working here,I wouldnt wipe my a** with this store or its management, nothing is WORSE than a "half-a**" wanna-be walmart, and folks let me tell YOU,this place is IT!!!,I can pretty much hear "sammy" turning over in his grave now.ladies and gents,if you think ANYTHING OF YOURSELVES,DO NOT WORK IN THIS SH*THOLE,you WILL find yourself at the authority of a rude a** p***k that looks like they've done EVERY drug in the book and act like youre the worst worker ever and should be "lucky" to be working there, well I have one thing to say to steve and the other corrupt pricks they call managers at dollar tree,KISS MY A** MOTHERF*CKERS!!!!!!!

Dollar Tree Corruption and Mismanagement

Hello I too have worked for dollar tree for a good amount of time and I must say that it is a terrible place to work if you have integrity and like to do your best at everything you do. Basically it's the store manager's world, more thanhalf the time he comes in half an hour to an hour late if he comes in at all. If we are late or no show but call he hates it. Store manager wants employees to maintain a healthy ethical work environment but he's far from "Leading by Example". He's broke up with his wife and is now having a VERY close and intamite relationship with another employee who he now has made assistant store manager. Lately the man has been coming into work so drunk he's slurring his words and REEKS like alcohol (keep in mind this is the Store Manager).
Now here's the worst part from what I myself know. He and another employee became very close friends store manager would loan this guy his car and everything. Well the store was hiring for a manager because a manager had just quit, the store manager decided to train his friend behind everyones back so he would get the position when the position was open for anyone. Well this training included giving him the combination to the safe. I'm going to put this short.
Weeks later the store is unlocked and robbed. The safe is CLEANED out $4000.00-$5000.00 lost. I wonder who did it? According to the store managers girlfriend who is also the assistant store manager the store Managers so called buddy he was training called the work phone and asked for the combination to the safe so she felt she had to give it to him. Of course it's a lie to cover up her boyfriend(Store Manager) bad actions. This resulted in the employee getting fired and the store manager HOLDING HIS POSITION AS DICTATOR OF DOLLAR TREE ON 4TH AND MENAUL.

Ahhh, yes I worked there too. If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me "is this a dollar?" I'd be rich and I'd buy that company and shut it down.
Kids, get your college education, because working your a*s off for a store that pays you the equivalent of seven of their items an hour....it sucks. I sit on my a*s at a computer all day for twice as much and do less than half the work now.
I know slinging register there just seems like an easy job, and it is, but you will end up putting a bullet into someone's skull. Dollar Tree is where everything is a dollar, but the people are priceless.
At least that's what they claim. But I definitely could put a price on some of my old manager's asses. Thousand bucks a head, done by the crackhead down the street. Who always comes into the store for jerky. And tries to return it. When its opened.

I am currently working for Dollar Tree and have been employed there for 2 years. I started out as a cashier at Deals and now am an assistant manager at DT. I have never had any such problems at any of the stores I have worked at. (I've been to 4 different stores in PA) All of my store managers have been very good at their jobs and the DM is a very smart, hard working, caring lady. Everyone I have worked for and everyone I have worked with (with the exception of one store manager), work their butts off. And when we work hard, we get rewarded and told about the good job we have done. It's a shame to hear that you've been through such an experience.
