Do not rent through Don Cato. He is listed as Don Cato Realty but he is the only employee along with an assistant and a very sketchy maintance guy.

Anyone can obtain a realtors license just by paying money, taking a 1 month course and passing a test. This does not mean that every individual is qualified to actually deal with the tenants renting from the realtor.

I moved into Dons house on Walker Avenue last year and just now am moving out. The A/C was broke and we told him two-three times to come fix it but he insisted that the house could not stay cold because the heat outside was just so extream. Two leaks in the house caused the water bill to be high all year, I had to run window units for A/C so our power bill was out of the roof as well. 

We would pay our rent and get back a receipt that was marked out and written all over with sharpie. Our third roomate got so fed up that he moved out mid-lease. He paid his share of rent as was good to go. But after he moved out, CATO chose to charge me for the third bedroom along with mine. Some how the amount that we owed on the rent went from $700 to a quick $3000 by the end of the lease. He called our parents and yelled at them and threatened to sue but whould not explain why we owed so much or try to understand why we did not understand. 

He currently has a summons out to get "his" $3000 which means he is sueing us for having to live in a hell whole.

SOME OTHER THINGS ABOUT THE HOUSE:

lead based paint     = getting sick easily

rats no matter what = getting sick easily

faulty windows         = no air flow

high bills                = broke

Cato also has about 5-6 other properties on Walker Avenue that all have For Rent signs outside. I wonder why? I know quite a few people that have lived in cato properties that have had terrible experiences and plan to file a complaint on here as well.
