I went in to get a free consultation for Dr. Don preble ( aka ex - con used car salesman , aka swollen head ) . I had been advised to seek their dental advice regarding replacing one of my missing molars, that i lost while accidentally eating into a foreign metal object at a restaurant. The restaurant recommended that I go see this dentist that I had never heard of before, i figured well since the restaurant was paying for it, I had nothing to lose. When I presented to their office, they made it seem like the Doctor was an incredibly busy man, always in surgery, well it isn't like he is a doctor or anything, after all he only works in teeth. After sitting for an hour in the waiting room a pleasant young assistant approached me and guided me to a room where a fancy machine took an xray of my head, i really didn't think this sort of xray was necessary, since after all i was just looking to get my one tooth replaced or fixed, or so i thought. I was immediately guided to wait for another hour in his little office, and finally this tall old groggy fellow appeared before me introducing himself as  Dr. Preble. He was boasting how his new state of the art office had the latest of gadgetteries, i told him i just wanted to get my tooth fixed, but then he went on, talking about his hobbies, and such, and I really felt like i was being pushed in something i really didn't want to hear, finally, he convinced me that since the restaurant was paying for it, i should be getting the best, neddless to say, after a very painful bone graft, and blood sucked out of my arm, without my consent, that need I add failed four months later, and 1 implant insertion that also failed several months later ( need I mention that he also almost made me swallow some of his screw drivers, blaming it on me, that my mouth was so little !!!!!!) I was appauled at his uncaring behavior, and blaming everything on me. I now look in the mirror and I am horrified to see this grueling gap between my back molar, in  an area, that used to look healthy, before his grubby hands touched my delicate little mouth, I now see a terrible mess of despair. I don't know how i can get my mouth back, now that all this bone damage has taken place, I don't know where else to turn, but to at least warn others, of this really really bad man. Please do not be coerced into doing ludicrous surgeries to get you mouth fixed, especially not by Dr Don Prebble !!!!!!!!

I don't think so

My dear, if you have never heard of this Dentist before, you should have done more homework.  Would you take your pet to a vet you've never heard of?
Also, he is a doctor; a doctor of teeth.  I spent 3 years as a Certified Dental Assistant so I know this field all too well.  Dentists don't have magic wands to wave over your mouth and "POOF"; all is well again!  It is a very time involved process; any person that has had a composite filling will tell you that it can be a pain in the rear just to get the bite accurate.  It becomes time consuming when you have surgical extractions, impacted teeth, shrieking children, and nasty patients that have a million questions and/or complaints.  Yes, that X-ray was necessary; if it was taken from the side of your head, it is called a cephalometric xray (which I doubt this was the kind that was taken).  It was more than likely a panoramic xray; this xray looks at the placement of all teeth, any obstructions; your TMJ (temporomandibular joint); it can provide a plethora of information in a simple and painless scan.
I agree that since it was someone's dime that you were having this procedure done, go all out!  An implant is a good solution for a molar-especially since the missing molar in question can adversely affect your chewing and even the space between your remaining teeth.
Bone grafting doesn't feel pleasant much like many dental procedures but I have a serious concern about what you say in regards to your blood being drawn without your consent.  Did at anytime you refuse to have your blood taken?  That is something that you could have very easily asked why or refused, so no one held a gun to your head to make you do it.  The "screw drivers" you are referring to are called "handpieces" and the smaller instruments that attach to the inside are called "burs"; if a patient has a smaller mouth, it does become quite daunting for the dentist or the assistant to successfully maneuver inside of the mouth.
To sum this typical patient complaint:
You have the right as a patient to a consultation-even if this restaurant referred you to him.  You have the right to refuse treatment based on whatever you want to make it to be.  You had the right to get up and leave because you didn't like this dentist, his practice or whatever.
I'm also wondering at what the problem was originally to result in you loosing your molar from biting into a foreign object.  I would imagine that that would have hurt, but you make no mention of any preexisting condition to that molar.  Plus, if it was this restaurants fault that you lost your molar initially, why have you not filed a complaint on this site against them?
