DOSHI INTENTIONALLY TRIED TO ROB ME!

In December 2015 I had an X-ray at Doshi. I was asked for a $20 cash copayment and paid it. Wisely, I demanded a receipt. A month later I get my Medicare and secondary insurance statements, and find I am only responsible for a $6.66 copay - Doshi overcharged me $13.34. I contacted Doshi – or tried to – by phone and website messages. I persisted, and was finally told it would take 12 WEEKS to process my refund claim. I thought that was bull, but decided to be patient.

The 12 weeks passed - no payment. I again tried to contact them several times but was ignored. Finally I got through to a person by phone, and threatened that if not paid I would file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, give them negative feedback on the Internet, and if I finally had to go to small claims court I would sue for a hell of a lot more than $13.34! I would never miss thirteen dollars, but this is a matter of principle – if they would rob me, they would rob a poor person too. A sympathetic Doshi employee advised I come in to speak with the manager.

I went there with the clear intention to kick a** (verbally at least) if they tried to weasel out of paying me. I showed all my hard proof documentation, but in another attempted fraud they gave me a copy of a document saying my copay was $20. Checking it carefully, I found it was THEIR document, dated the day I had the X-ray! The insurance statement came later, and I loudly let them know I will not be fooled! I demanded to see the manager. First told she was unavailable, she became so when I started speaking so loudly that all the patients waiting there were informed how CROOKED Doshi Diagnostics is! The manager then quickly appeared to talk to me, and was understanding and compliant with my demands. She said she must follow “company policy” or lose her job. She sent copies of my papers to their billing department, and told me I would get a response by phone in 1 week. That was 6 days ago - no reply yet!

On my way out, a whistle-blower employee stopped me by the door to thank me for fighting them and told me “They do things like this all the time!”
