Several years ago, at least seven, I was a member of Literary Guild and Double Day book club.  I fulfilled my membership agreements with both and I cancelled my membership.  I moved and changed banks and began a membership with Mystery Guild.  In october of 2014 I realized that my checking account had been charged 42.46 by Literary Guild.  I called Litereray guild and was told they had no record of my canceling the account and I didn't respond to the monthly featured selection so they sent it to me and charged my account.  I have no idea how they got my account information and I never got an email and I hadn't had any corresponsence with them for several years.  The man accused me of lying and said he had no way of knowing if I was telling the truth and to just send the books back.  I told him to make sure all my accounts with all the book clubs were closed and he said he closed them all.

The next day I was charged another 42.46 from my checking account and this time it was Double Day.  I called Double Day and went through the same problems and eventually I spoke with a woman who said she would return the money to my account within two weeks and close all my accounts.  I went to my bank and changed my account and talked to them about disputing the charge, I agreed to wait the few weeks to give them time to credit my account.  The credit never came through so I went back and filled out the dispute papers.  Today I recieved an email stating that the book clubs are claiming the charge is legitimate.  I sent back books that were sent to me so I have no books and I'm out 85.00, not the mention, I have no idea how they got my information.  Literary guild and double day basically stoloe money right out of my account.
