Dr. David Mann Psychologist Unethical and a Rip Off Mission Viejo California

Hey Joe from Texas, it is my understanding that this site is not really a forum for blogging or making recommendations but instead a way to post wrongful acts by businesses so consumers can read about a business before making a decision to do business with them.

I appreciate your statements and you can be assured that reporting these incidents to the state Psychology Board are definitely an option and that has all been well thought out and I am in contact with at least 3 others who have had similar incidents with Dr. Mann. Please do not make any more comments on this page because it waters down the important information for the consumer. Thanks.

The person leaving this message is obviously not a patient and in fact it sounds like someone from Dr. Mann's internal camp. If it was someone who legitimately was coming to the defense of Dr. Mann, why would he admit that he "gladly" paid off Dr. Mann well in advance of this year long made up "contentous" situation. Okay, pal, so you paid in advance an amount of perhaps $10,000 or more?

Also, why would someone legitimate tell us of his 50/50 child custody. If this Dr. Mann truly saw past this woman's false accusations and trauma that she put the husband and children through, why would he recommend a joint custody?

The statement also suggests that if you pay Dr. Mann a large sum of money well in advance so he can earn money on interest, that you will get a favorable outcome in the report. In this case, if this person truly had such a major issue with such a miserable X, the good doctor clearly should have given him controlling custody or 100% with visitation rights to the X. Right?

The entire statement makes no sense and is most likely a plot by Dr. Mann to try and save face.

Do you really have many clients that pay you upfront for services that will last a year Dr. Mann? Get real. This Dr.Mann is sharing confidential information with 3rd parties and robbing people blind by charging them enormous amounts of money after the report has been paid for. My report was held until I paid $1,000 for the doctor to complete the report. After already paying $4,000, I paid another $1,000 for him to finish the report. He then went on vacation and when he came back he blackmailed me again for another amount close to $3,000 because his secretary said he had to re-review my report and he was again going to hold the report until it was paid in full!!! When I asked why I was being charged this amount, his secretary told me that I WOULD NOT have been charged this additional amount if I paid the $1,000 right away and did not post date it for one week like I did.

Make your own decision here but the facts tell the story here. The mother of my son and I are now good friends and our son is now over the trauma that the Dr. put us through. We coach a baseball team together and my son is happy and healthy that mom and dad are friends and no more Dr. Evil to pull us apart and suggest that we will never be able to co-parent our son. We live a happy life as co-parents and when we have an issue we work it out as civil people.

I cannot confirm or deny any of the complaints about Dr. Mann as they are individual confidential cases of which I have no direct information.

I can only comment that I too went through a court ordered Custody Evaluation with Dr. Mann as the evaluator. I had a VERY contentous divorce case where my X was claiming all sorts of incredibly evil things about me in order to not allow me any custody of my 3 kids. I was unimaginably worried that I would lose my kids it was so bad. The evaluation lasted nearly a year it was so contentous. Dr. Mann saw through all the false accusations that my X was claiming and recommended to the courts that I be awarded joint custody of my kids!! Yes, it cost me a large sum of money that I paid upfront and without hesitation, but in the end it was well worth it. I still deal with some parental alienation from an X with serious emotional issues that I have to deal with. It has been pure hell, but at least I have my kids every other week (50%/50%).
